2018 Gassers Going on Sale in April for the Euro Market?

To me it sounds like they have a good strategy they follow. Sad to hear about the 125 and the 200....
But very good that GasGas listened to the market (Kayaba)!

There is no complaint in the reaction of Torrot-Gasgas after all the turmoil and imho the 2018 model is almost a catch up with the 2016-17 competition. We shouldn't forget though that there is still a lot to be done with direct injection on the way! Even more weight reduction, internal starter to name a few... KYB, after Marzocchis problematic production was a logical decision (TMs are with kayaba too)

I'd love a TM, and could get one, but still kick start only, and carry a hefty price tag.. similar depreciation and boutique brand as gas gas.

IMO, if GG can keep their current pricing (or at least stay significantly cheaper then the competition) they will be moving forward.

Probably be 2020 before I can consider a new Gasser. In the mean time I still have one which costs little to own, and still pondering adding a YZ125 to the stable.

I'm with you on all your thoughts except TMs 2T models which are too aggressive for me and need to be pushed hard. A four stroke 250/300 TM is a different thingy :D

I love a small bore 2 stroke. I offered to buy a KX125 from a guy this morning.

I think I know my dream garage.

TM 144
GasGas EC250
Sherco 300 4T
Beta 480 dual sport
Trials bike
My BMW touring bike

But realistically that will never happen.

I do like that GG is looking at 4T engines. I think in this market they'll need to do that to survive.

Back to the original topic.
April is now history, but the 2018 bike is getting close.

I visited the Norwegian importer yesterday. He said they have produced the first batch of EC bikes in Spain, and he will get the first 2018 EC300 very soon. Then he will send out invitations for a test ride day in the near future. I'm looking forward to that, and I hope it will be before the 19th, as I leave for Portugal (Lagares Extreme enduro) on the 20th. (No, I'm not going to ride Lagares).

That's great and may need to change dealers to one that will keep me in the loop......
Where in the world are you located?

Here in Norway I am very fortunate. I live only 40km from the importer who is a great guy and a former trial rider at high level. His main focus is trial, and he is an importer for both Gasgas, TRS, Vertigo and Montesa. Although the Norwegian market is pretty small, he keeps an impressive spares stock, even for the EC bikes.
