250 to 300

I have read how you can swap top ends between a 250 and 300 Does it matter what years ? Will my 01 300 top fit the 07 motor ? May sell the 01 as the 07 is way cool Just wondering ?

Yes at least 2001 to 2007 will interchange. I put my 01xc300 top end on my 07ec250.

You'll love the extra bottom power you'll pick up but don't be surprised if you need a jetting change to get it to rev out on top end. I'm not good at jetting and finally gave up and sent my carb and head to Ron (RB Designs). His magic made made the motor awesome.

Very cool. I love the 300 torque. And the look on peoples faces when they ask, "is that a 250? Nope a 300! But its a 2 stroke. Yes it is!"

I bought Gassers 07' 300. It was my first ride on a 300 and the minute I rode I knew I would never go back to a 250.

BTW Ken, I sold that bike to a young kid here in AZ he absolutely loves it. I am glad it went to another good home.

i had been riding this bike as a 250 for probably a year.. i had the 2001 300 setting on a stand for the same amount of time.. i loved the 300 motor and the mc suspension , so..... i was gonna buy a newer bike this year, but the wife has some medical things and ended up in the hospital for a week.. so my bike budget was kinda blown anyway... she supports my hobby fully and it is all good.. i left the fww and large pv, 2k1 ignition and mc ( i guess) cdi.. it pulls great low end and still rips pretty good on mid and top.. i think it will be the best of both worlds..
