2K3 for 2K2 ignition?

Now that I am sure I do not want to Dual sport my bike I would like to try a 2k2 for sure. I would like eaither a DE250, DE300, EC250, EC200 with a 2K2 for the reson that the CDI from anyother bike will make my bike less of what I want it to be.

So trade stright across for a 2002 EC250 2K3 for any 2K2 listed above.

Please tell me what year and model you have.

THANKS!!!

I have a new in the box Part#MC250034005 2K2 ignition set up for a 2003 Gas Gas 250EC. I have not installed it so have not verified that it works. Because it is new, I assume that it is good. I got it when I bought out the local Gas Gas dealer's parts inventory. Would rather sell at a good price than trade.

The only thing (as far as I understand) is you would not have your dual maps anymore, and a more aggresive CDI, unless their is a way around that.

Sweet so we could keep the bikes wired and just take ou the flywheel and stator. So tht means We both get to keep our CDI and your Dual switch mapping.

Well tell me what you think then. If eaither will not work worst that happens we send them back to each other.

Thanks very much widebear. Sorry you did not get the radiator plastics.

So what would you want for it cash then? I am not sure what its worth so you give my the price.

THANKS!!!
Go Fasters lists it for $367. I will sell it for $250. It is brand new in the box with the plastic still on it. Can you verify if part number MC250034005 is the 2K2 ignition? I was told by the dealer that I bought all the parts from that it was but would hate to sell/ship it if it isn't.

stator and rotar are independent of cdi perf just swap em out
Not true. The earlier stators did not have the black and orange wires for the ignition map switch on them. I believe the later stators are OK to use on the earlier bikes but you lose this functionality if you use earlier units on the new bikes.

That is the part number for the 2K2 ignition.

Bill,

Please explain this. I'm not saying your wrong but this is news to me. What does the stator have to do with the map select function of the CDI? I have to look at the drawings and my bike I guess.

Alright Cladoo I finaly got my bike home and the stator has 4 wires going to it. How many do you have?

Sorry for the long wait but my bike was not home.

The cable end that plugs into the CDI from the stator is missing the 2 leads for the map switch on the early units.

Looking at the connector you could wire the map switch in if you modified the connector. It wouldn't be the easiest thing to do.
