300 or 250

That is really interesting. I had heard about the rod but I didn?t know the piston would fit.
As long as the bore diameter of the piston is correct, with proper wall clearance like any other piston, the CR250 piston works perfectly. Plus, they're cheaper and have a much wider range to choose from. About 4 years ago I used a Vertex 23249B 66.34mm piston, which was listed as an option for the '89-'94 Honda CR250, in my '05 EC250. Now it only lists it as for GasGas and TM. If you ever go this route be careful and compare to what was in there! The normal stock bore most sell for the CR250 is 66.40mm.

...Don't see many 250's doing the really technical international enduros... there's a reason for it.
Yeah, when your riding stuff like Erzburg, Romaniacs, etc., you need all the power you can get!

more wicked input guys thx. as stated b4, going to run it as a 300 for a couple months to get the feel and my fitness back up, then will swap to a 250 and see how i go. i know i dont use the clutch much atm so i may have a bit of fun with that when i do the changeover. im not much of an open track rider , do prefer the more technical stuff. possibly due to the fact that not going as fast is less likely to hurt majorly. dont get me wrong i know it hurts coming of in the wrong way even at slow pace. phsycologicaly i feel better being in 2nd/3rd riding tracks than 5th and top.

I?m changing my 18 250 to a 300. The 250 struggles to much straight off idle on the technical hills for me. For those that have done the change in either direction did you get the CDI remapped for the correct size?
