Anyone got a review of the 2013 race with the new barrel

The new barrel has the new gasgas "g" on the side cast into it, supposed to have the ports dropped to aid bottom end and is set up to maintain top end, and have a new pv cover and pv settings, anyone ridden one and happy to compare to older bikes??

Thanks guys!

That's the one, oh well maybe just cleaner casting and pv changes. Thanks for that guys.

Ah if its just a G cast in the side its probably just an S3 cylinder. I was getting excited that it could have been one of the ones we saw in 2012 pics that actually ran a completely different lhs powervalve cover (if any). My memory isn't 100%.

Simmo, when you get your 2013 250R you can always send your cyl down to Dave at TSP at the first top end. He's got specs and data from a couple different cylinders including mine (with the S3 on the side).

Hmm.. Externally casting is a bit different too. Maybe they're not S3.

Is that a 200 cylinder? There's no head bolt provisions on the exterior of the jug.

No 300cc, GasGas have a new frame supplier for 2013 frame! It have no more bolt on the head.
Also the footpegs are different, now you can put them up and down..

No new jugs or adjustable pegs on US models I have seen. The cylinder head stays were dropped in '12, but boss on head remains.

As per my most they were all the expected changes for 2012 that didn't happen.

No idea how they have changed the powervalve or what they have done to the ports. It appears that this cyl will be used on the Race models only "The entire line includes an engine with a new cylinder that provides reliability and greater drive response at medium and low speeds. "

I'm also hoping with the new cyl and head manufacturing that they may have been able to reduce some tolerance and start shipping bikes with squish clearances that are a bit more acceptable.

re the powervalve, I was told by oz importer LHS PV cover volume change and PV springs "probably changed" to suit new barrel porting.
