Body armour

I got the TLD in today. I'm 6'1" 235 and this thing feels like it is for a 5 year old kid. The front doesn't even cover my gut.

What size did you get?? I'm 6'1" 225 and ordered the L/XL in the POC but that was the biggest size the offered.

L/XL

It is pretty nice, very close fitting. Just feel that my abdomen is very exposed. My older Moose/Acerbis covered down past my naval. I'm trying to unscrew the panel to adjust it down, but that looks like it will only go maybe an inch lower.

I wear the Acerbis Cosmo now for 3 years and I love it.

Wow that is a heavy duty piece of armor. Never seen a crop top body armor like that.

My current complaint is finding a good set of Elbow Pads that won't slip yet aren't super hard and annoying fit.

I currently have the SixOneSix soft elbow pads but usually 1/4 way into ride they slip.

I have heard good things about this company. I am considering getting their elbow pads.

Just zip tie them to the upper arm guard. It ends up being like a suit, but w/o the added "jacket" material.

Close up. They never fall down. You adjust them till there perfect. Then never think about it again.

I love the creative ideas we all come up with.
This is a good one and cheap.

Only bad thing is that my Leatt Chest Protector does not have those arm thing guards. But this does give me an idea I will look in to.

Thanks for sharing

Oh and I measured the difference to the naval bt the two CP. The TLD is 4" shorter. The Moose didn't quite make it to the naval, but was much lower.

The TLD fits great under the Jersey though, even with the elbow guards under too. I'm going to run it under like this and see how it works.

You should be able to order the upper arm guards from Leatt.

My upper arm guards broke off, which is why I just bought the TLD, so I could start running my elbow guards. Much prefer riding with them. They are weapons. I use them to bash stuff out the way. Without, I'm more timid, especially in rocks.

I don't wear the Leatt but it is designed for one. I am 5'10" and 205lbs and I wear the XXL size. I really like the elbow guards and shoulder pads short jacket, it is not as hot as most pressure suits. The elbow guards don't move around as much but sometimes if you fall down it will slide up the arm. Some guys with shorter torsos might find the back armour too long but you can remove the bottom piece if it is bothering you.

I rode with the TLD Friday for the first time. Didn't really notice it, except when I looked down and saw my gut. It was very humid and hot, so I wore it out over the jersey. No ass bustin' was going on, so don't have much to report. zip tied Elbow pads were non eventful. Worked good.

I finally recieved my POC vpd spine 2.0 last week and wore it on a Wednesday ride. I've tried the troy lee, fox, and alpine stars on and I'm telling you guys this is the friggin gear!! I never hype something if it's junk no matter how much it costs and this is by FAR thee best protection I've tried for my upper body and not having to wear a chest protector. The vpd protection once it warms up on your body actually moulds to you and is pretty much as custom fit as it comes(however as it experiences impact gets hard depending on how hard the impact,it's actually progressive and rediculously cool stuff). I hate wearing elbow pads and you don't even know the elbow or shoulder pads are there and the spine vpd doe covers a ton of your back and is also undetected when riding. The jacket is ultra light and is rediclously cool. There quite pricey but I can't imagine better money spent. I'm trying to get my local dealer into carrying the line as my friends that seen it this week are turfing there's for the POC product. You gotta look into it!!
