Cylinder Removal?

Ride report with fresh top end??

Not yet mate. Waiting on a kick starter spline shaft which I am told is on back order.....:mad:!!!

The spline teeth had rounded (have been told their have been a few problems with them) and only way to get off was to belt the shit out of it from one end and another person levering from other!!

Thought it would be a good idea to get rid of free play in power valve (appx 5mm) whilst I had the bike in bits :(.

To keep myself sane I am telling myself, Evo all good things come to those who wait!?!?!?!?!

Hahaha.. Sorry to hear that mate.. Hope she's back together shortly! FWW I have one of the new splines in my bike! hehe!

You shouldn't need spatulas, heat, and excessive stretching. It should not be that hard. Light stretch with a grease coat, lay in groove, run finger around until it stays seated. If its much harder than that you may have the wrong o-ring. It has happened.

Massage the o-rings with some grease before you put them on. Slightly stretch them as you do. If you do it right they should just lay on the cylinder in the vein allowing you to lower the head for a perfect fit.
