EC200 Engine Mounts

Hello wise people,

I'm curious if anyone knows if the engine mounts are different between the EC200 chasis and the 250/300 Chasis. Particularly speaking 2013 models here too!

I'm considering buying a 2013 EC200R but I'd like to have the option to transplant/swap engines between chasis with my 2010/2011 frame if I find myself preferring certain attributes of one or the other more. Will it be as simple as pulling the lower mounts on each and dropping the engine in? They use the same engine cases so realistically not much will be different there, and the 2012 and 2013 have dropped the headstay which is where I imagine they would be a bit different maybe?

Thanks
Jake

Well, not exactly the same cases. The center cases are different to make the essential air-pumping function work out. Pipes are different too, although I would bet a dollars worth of donuts that the mounting points on the frame are the same.

Its been the same on the older bikes and engine swaps have been done. '99 to '04 and '05+ are different. Like Steve says you would need pipe(s) for correct performance, '12/'13 is different than '10.

Sounds great to me! What is the difference in the pipes for 2012 Glenn? Anything visibly different, or just the mounting point at the frame?

I'm really not considering doing a swap, but just building an argument (pro's) to why I should buy a new 200. If you have any other reasons why I should feel free to feed the fire.
