hey guys... was out goat trailing the 300 this weekend.. dropped it in a little rock area and snapped the fuel filter.. used the vent line to ride the rest of the day, no problem..
what is the general thoughts on having the fuel filters.. this is the first 2 smoke i have ever had with one, and this was a fluke deal.. and there was nothing in the filter..
just wondering..

oh.. and have i mentioned the 300 is awesome..

Use a 90 degree fuel filter in its place. Visu-filter makes them. Less strain and more durable than stock.

Happened on my 2001 Gas Gas.

probably time to buy a newer one....(bike that is)

i was on the side of a hill on a single track trail we were exploring.. it was a dead end... tried to do a "wheelie turn", which i normally cant do, but spun it around, then dropped it..i guess on a rock... then started smelling gas.. wondering who's it was... it was MINE...
a great day at lake mackenzie.. had a blast..

Here is a link to the 90 degree visu-filter I mentioned above.

There is a filter inside the tank at the fuel tap. To me it is not fine enough so I always used the 90 degree filters in the above posts.

Hmmm.
I too went to the visu-filter 90 degree filter. I was searching for a fuel leak at the race and I think I found it. That would be the race where I ran out of gas on the last lap and suffered lean rev damage...

Hook your lines to the plastic filter once, and disconnect elsewhere if you need to pull the tank or carb. It is not a rugged unit. But it does solve that ridiculous kink in the fuel line.

I need to find correct fuel line so I can use spring clamps.

Two different "motorcycle shops" looked at me funny when I asked for fuel line and vent hose. :(

They are made in Aussie "G" I will see if I can find the link on the Berg site. Lot's of folks are using them. That is where I read about them.

Regarding the 90 degree fuel filter that the webmaster linked to this thread:

I'm sure that most of you are familiar with the yearly Indianapolis Dealer Expo (motorsports business convention in Indy).
I spent one whole Dealer Expo on a quest to find such an animal. None of the fuel filter suppliers made one. Then, I made a drawing of what I was looking for and went back for another talk with the major fuel filter suppliers. That was in February.

Four months later, in June, a representative from Plastonics, Inc, the maker of Visu-Filters, called me and told me that some samples were on their way to Smackover Motor Sports. What showed up in the mail was exactly what I requested, and fit my GasGas perfectly.
I called them back, and told them that I thought they should make them in two versions; one with the bronze ceramic element inside and one with the fine plastic mesh inside. (I had different customers who preferred one sort of filter element or the other, and wanted to be able to supply both.)
Plastonics complied, and for a while I could get and stocked both.

I buy them by the card of 20 filters, and now mostly get them from Dennis Kirk.

I won't run my bikes without a fuel filter, unless there is a breakdown such as Dean's during a ride.

Thanks for the idea and information on the "filler sock". I want one. What did you find out from Husaberg, Robby?

Good Riding!

The ISDT Reunion Ride is coming up in three of weeks. If anyone has a running dirt bike of '84 or older vintage, this is one of the most fun events a rider can enter. The ride is in northwest Arkansas at Mill Creek (Combs, AR).
