Right.. I have a set of what looks like '07 yz 250 sss forks, complete with wheel spacers, axle and caliper bracket to fit a gas gas . I fitted some to my old 09 gas gas , but it seems that the lower caliper is smaller in dis than previous years? Has anyone fitted a set of these forks to a newer gas gas ? Or does online know what year they changed the clamp diameters ? Thanks.

I don't really understand what you are asking.. are we talking brake caliper distances, or lower triple clamps?

All my findings are here.

As per post #15

2011 gasgas 45mm zoke triples
2011 race 48mm zokes
2011 Sachs 48mm
BRP upper triple clamp.
The uppers all interchange.

The lower 45mm and 48mm gasgas clamps are different size. Not just bored out. But bigger OD and ID.

I am guessing that the difference between your 09 and 13 are that one had 48mm forks, the other 45mm's. It wasn't so much that they changed at a particular time or even model. It just depended on availability and agreed specification. For instance here in Australia, the 13 models either came with an e-start and 45mm Marzocchis, or the race model was kick only with 48mm Marzocchi closed cartridges.. mine being the later.

I'm pretty sure my 09 had 48mm Sachs. I bolted a set of Italian husky kyb cc forks on that bike fairly easy. The forks fitted straight into the clamps, just machined some wheel spacers and milled 3mm off caliper bracket. The axle was the same diameter too. These sss kyb have same dimension outer tubes where they clamp, but a thinner axle . Basically I want to know if I can get away with buying a older model lower clamp for either of these forks to fit my bike. The forks will slide into top clamp, but lower clamp seems about 2-3mm in diameter smaller than the clamps on my 09. I presume my current forks on the 13 bike are 45mm? Hence why the lower clamp dia is smaller.

If you measure the OD of the lower fork leg of you OEM 13 forks you could confirm that they are 45mm. Can also measure where they clamp in the lower triple and compare that to your KYBs.

I am considering a part out of a 10' model with 48mm Sachs so depending on if I go ahead may have a set available.

You can have spacers machined that will feed into the bearing inner races and allow you to use a smaller OD axle with the GG hub.

Not sure how you have managed to get 07 model SSS to fit into a stock GG upper clamp though.. not without boring them out. Or having 10-12+ YZF forks. In any case, have a good read through my thread. It covers just about everything I had to go through.
