Gas Gas Meet n Greet Ride 5!

Ha Ha I expect no less from Scott. :)

And Yep We will be doing that section I mentioned to Paul pretty early in the loop. Its very fun and allot of it is new or reopened trail. I Used to ride this side many years back.

Ah, crap. I waited too long to commit, and Scott made other plans. Hopefully we can find another KTM to make fun of.
I'll be there, anyway.
The "new" stuff way to the south west? Some nice re-opened stuff over there. I spent a day playing around over there with the boy the week after the Sparkplug.
This should be fun.

Fantastic weather yesterday, and a great group of riders. I was absolutely exhausted at 30 miles, but getting to that point was great fun. Thanks to everyone for their patience and support, and sorry again for the gravel blasts. I'm getting better, I think, at least I am more aware of what is going on behind me.

Here's a video of one of the last sections, Tim had the clip on his needle break and strand him. I opted to ride up to the next intersection and catch up with Roscoe, he went back to help get it sorted.

I'll post up all of my videos as I get time, but seeing that it's mother's day I have to tend to the needs of the wife first. Off to the beach!

He's not kidding about pitching rocks. It was great fun teasing about it. Lucky for me, he didn't get to witness a couple of my ugly dismounts. One of which is most likely responsible for the demolition of my silencer. Roscoe got photos of "The Band-Aid Brigade". Great fun, in the sun. I have shopping to do. We witnessed a breakdown, to which the only fix was having the right parts in one's kit. He did, and the repair was made. A new silencer, and I'll be ready to go again. Bill

Edit: New silencer...Under $150.00 Be here Wednesday

Here are some pics of this years Gas Gas Meet N Greet ride in sunny dry and hot western Washington, no kidding.
Had 5 Gas Gas' and one Yamaha this year. Not the largest but also not the smallest gathering to date.

Tim was yanking on that throttle so hard on Saturday and subsiquently broke the carb needle clip in two.:D Really though the clip did break in half. In all the years Ive never seen that one.

Anyhow I got some video I'll post up eventually so in the meantime heres some pics.

Enjoy, we did!

Those are great snapshots. The last time I posed for a similar photo, I crushed the scales at 285#:D What a great day! It's sure is hard to get those vistas under a triple canopy.

Heres some more.

One of the strangest things I've had happen to me on the trail, for sure. My favorite part was a little after you took that picture and someone (it might have been you) said something to the effect of "easy fix, but ends your ride", and I answered "No, I'm pretty sure I have a spare", to which I got a blank look and the question "Why would you carry a spare needle clip?" and I replied "Why don't you?"
At least 3 of the 5 of you mentioned needing to update their fanny packs after we RODE back to the staging area. :D
Better than my last GasGas ride, when Jon had to tow me home with a fried stator. I'm glad I can keep riding with Jon, too. Nice guy, but seemed a little too eager to get me on a rope again before we found that broken jesus clip.
Thanks for a fun day, Roscoe, Jon, Phil, Bill, and Steve. Fun trails, good company, interesting trailside issues to deal with, and you couldn't ask for a nicer day. Those grilled hot dogs and bacon cheeseburgers were pretty fine, too.

Gee whiz, I definitely got the ugly form. I couldn't keep my butt off the seat, or my tires on the ground. We should've had an ugly form award. If I hadn't won, I'd have been at least a close 2nd:D You were screamin' right along in the 2nd video.

Not that close of a second. At least today I can sit without flinching.

You two are cracking me up.:D

I am downloading the second part of the second vid I posted earlier. It is significantly longer. On this half I lead for a while then I pull over in the clearcut several times to follow you guys.

Probably won't be up until tomorrow.

Phil, I'm a cheater. I had my liner to my MTB shorts on. That big, THICK pad is great. That might be why I couldn't get off the dang seat...There was no pain to encourage it:D
