We don't understand because we have to many land restrictions to have a race requiring a bike like that in this country. Back east thier's to many people and out west we have Turtles, the Milk Weed,Kangaro Rat and so on and so on.

looks like socal is like Germany :D
on every edge another animal....

I like it.. need a bit more clearance on the front fender or it will pack solid.. The rally bike races they do over in the other countries is rather neat.. would be a nightmare to try to put one on here. But then again.. I enjoyed seeing the WEC when it came to NY a few years back, wish it was a regular thing.

It would be nice to make all the enviro jerks disappear. Watching the news the other day and a new and endangered cactus was discovered in AZ. went on to say the OHV Parks will be re-evaluated now. That cactus they showed was the size of a normal thumb nail.
We will never have any large races out west. I'm waiting for them to shut down the king of the motos

I think the biggest question is "why?".

Because it makes marketing sense..

The Dakar and rally raids in general are huge over here in Europe, you have a bike that finishes the Dakar, will make the Europeans take notice of the brand, and then buy a bike the Dakar is mainstream media over here.

If that engine is counterbalanced I think it would make a great DS/ADV bike for N. America. Unfortunately we will probably never see it. It sure looks great.

As for the enviro-nazis, the only way we will ever be able to fight them is if we join together and organize. A few yrs ago a buddy and I tried to start a singletrack oriented organization called Singletrack Planet. We started it with a small budget and hoped for enough donations to build it, but didn't get enough. We had offers of labor and web help, but what we needed was money.

To even start a non-profit it really takes about 15 grand to build a website, incorporate, advertise, and begin to build enough membership to spread the word of the org. We only had about 5 grand, but we tried.

The enviro-crazies get huge donations from people who live in cities and never even venture into the great outdoors like we do, but they will still donate huge sums of money for something they don't even take the time to enjoy. It's a strange attitude to me, but that's reality.

Maybe if the bike manufacturers would market more do-it-all bikes like this it would get more city folks into the boonies who would realize that you can recreate off road with a motor and still protect the environment? Most GG guys and girls ride singletrack and race or at least ride the smaller lighter racier bikes. I for one would love to have a bike like this Rally bike that I could truly do it all on. I use my old DRZ for that now, but it is a dated design, although I think it's the best DS type bike there is for overall use.

If GG and KTM would simply market bikes like these in N. America I think they would sell to commuter bikers, DS bikers, Rally bikers, ADV bikers, etc. If Suzuki would put Dakar style fairings and better seats/controls/GPS/etc on a DRZ and sell it for a decent price I think they would sell zillions of em, and it just might appeal to some of the people using KLRs, bicycles, Jeeps/4x4s, and foot power to go off road now.

Anyway, it couldn't hurt.

You just need to sue the govt. like the crazy wacked out enviro groups do. Thats how most of these groups got so big. They can bring law suit against the govt. over any little thing they choose. If they loose its no skin off their butt and if they win, well theirs another 100 grand or so to build their club even stronger.

You can order it at your gasgas dealer in Europe for 16,000 euros plus vat....

Then wait 6 weeks then ride! :p;)

Pretty good deal being as the ktm 450 rallye customer version will cost 48,000 euros plus vat!,:o

That really is a bargain for a bike and support for the Rally. I suppose if you can afford the $100,000 entry fee you can probably come up with any plan you choose, but that is a good price.
