Pre entries at the Pro Cup Event in La. this weekend had 5 gassers entered and I know the one pro entry switched to a different bike because he only had 1 ride on the GasGas. The weather was cold, wet, muddy, & rainy until the 7-8 hour mark and then it was just cold, wet & muddy. The course that started out at around a 9.6 mile loop, went through several mid race alterations due to severe course deterioration but the 9 hours were completed and the loop was actually coming back around to better riding conditions at the end. At the end of the day the course had a few blue and a few orange bikes sitting out on the loop without riders.
So that made 4? at the line. Donnie Graham from Ms. was on the 1st place 50+ team, Fred Overstreet from Ar. was on the 1st place Beginner team, Clay Hedgepath from Tn. was on the 2nd place 40A team, & Paul Broome was scheduled to run Ironman Sr but turned in no lap times, so not sure if he made it to the event at all. In the end every GasGas that started and finished at least one lap ended up on the podium in it's class.
Event promoter Lucas Comeaux also had his 2011 EC250 E-Start at the pavilion and I saw a pretty good swarm of people eying it over during Fridays practice round.
A crazy wet weekend but wait till next year !
