Hi guys I damaged my fork tubes and there looking rough(bike flew into my buddies trelleborgs lol) does anyone know were I can get gold tubes??? I have 48mm Sachs tubes with ttx inserts but not sure if any other tubes fit my triples or not. I don't mind buying them brand new just need to be pointed in the right direction.

Trevor Bling King!

Sachs forks. I think I was scoping out a Sherco that had gold Sachs on it while at the shop the other day. No idea if the dimensions are the same as ours or not. All I'm going to say is good luck finding anything Sachs. Your best bet is probably finding any set you can and if you want them gold having them anodized/coated yourself. Any chance of cleaning yours up and doing that?

I was thinking about trying that but don't know if it would be much cheaper having them anodized and new dlc coating put on. I thought that maybe another fork tube would accommodate the inserts. I looked at buying the new ttx22 inserts with fork tubes right from ohlins but can't find anything

I would presume the fork off the 2013 replica bikes could be used? They are, as far as I know, Ohlins inserts in Ohlins tubes.

I think the 13 replicas are still Sachs tubes with inserts. I don't know how to get a hold of a set though. Ill talk to my importer this week because I know he had 8 of the 250 replica

At least here in Europe, the replicas have gold colored forks, I believe they are full Ohlins

Ask by your Local ohlins Dealer for the fork, i have one its complete ohlins...but it cost about 3000 euro...the replica models had no DLC on inner tube!

They gold ones are RFX Forks. (http://www.ohlins-suspension.co.uk/ohlinsoffroadproducts.htm) Best price I've found is $3099USD.

How badly are they damaged Trev? Did you manage to gouge out the lower leg too? Seals leaking? Not sure what GG would sting you for the Sachs tubes. Might be worth asking though. I don't imagine they'd be cheap though. A second hand pair might be around.. but where?

So, Sachs USA refuses to get back in touch with me about anything... Guess moto stuff just isn't important enough. Or they just don't like me. Either way-

But in reality, it's a steel tube. Relevant parts are dimensions...

Ok, OD=48mm. Check. That's good. Length is rather important. Of utmost importance is the thread pitch and configuration inside the lug...

With those things, it'd be possible to try and locate another lower tube. If the numbers are right, the KYB lower with DLC is affordable as a replacement...

Just buy the whole kit Trev :) Someone over here in Aus will snaffled your TTX inserts up in a jiffy!

I'd think about it jake but we just added another little rider to the team a month ago and I think the miss would strangle me if she saw those show up at the door!

The way things are going with these Euro suspension companies as far as supply, I'd try to get setup with something as mainstream as possible. That is if you are keeping and riding the bike. Dave had a very good point about the KYB lower, the more of those crossover solutions the better. I'd be inclined to just go with a KYB SSS fork and have it done up to the max, coatings, new free pistons, etc. Deep knowledge base, parts on every corner, and you will not be able to out ride it.

Even the new Zokes, while a great performing fork, have a pitiful parts supply chain. I needed a rebound piston band and had to mod a WP part, ridiculous. I'm in the process of measuring all the orings used so I can have a supply on hand. What really concerns me is something like the cartridge seals and the PFP seal. There needs to be a solution for this, either identifying a vendor or developing a mod for the use of obtainable KYB/Showa parts.

Same here... although in the parts fiche GG doe not supplies it. Trying with Marzochi in Spain .

No tuners I have talked to can get Zoke parts, and are very frustrated. Its very disturbing and does not help sell bikes. These parts are what are considered consumables so we WILL have this problem soon. Guys like Dave at STM, Les at LTR, and Steve (twowheels) need to come up with some mods and aftermarket parts so we can use the common consumables. A different floating piston and cartridge seal holder come to mind. If you break something big like a catridge, or ding an upper, your totally screwed though, and will be putting KYBs on to ride. I'm thinking of doing just that to my '07 so I have a backup front end worked out and won't be caught dead in the water with no Zoke parts.

Lots of talent here, question is can these parts/mods be done cost effectively considering the low production volume of this fork? Maybe it won't be too bad.

This was my biggest complaint regarding the Sachs components. If anything was damaged it was near impossible to find replacements.
