Has anyone swapped out the Reiger shock?

I have a 2014 XC300R with the Reiger rear end.

Are there other suspension options for the rear end of the '14? Are other shocks bolt on or are mods required? Is it even possible?

Thanks!

I have an Ohlins TTX on my 2014. Works great! Although I have also heard very good reviews of the stock reiger

Slade, contact Stacy Berger @ Ohlins in North Carolina . Or their are options for the Reiger.

Just got off the phone with Stacy Berger at Ohlins.
He seemed a little unsure in general what Ohlins kit would work on a GasGas.
Shultzy - Stacy said that he had the TTX gg1282, and was wondering if that was the model you had on your bike. Any info appreciated.

For the record, I'm at a bit of a crossroads - wondering whether to revalve my Reiger or go with a whole new shock. Revalve is certainly cheaper, but will I get the performance gains I need. There is a whole price/performance calculation to be had.

Yep i have a 1282 TTX . Keep in mind this is on my 2012 ... NOT the 2015'
Stacy was instrumental in selecting both shock and spring. spring sold individually. What's the issue on the Reiger?

Hard Racing has GG1387 listed as the TTX shock for 2013-2015 Gas Gas EC 250-300. If you keep the Reiger and get it re-valved, please post your review!

Added details: If you search for part numbers you will find a PDF manual for each. There you will find the specs are close but slightly different without getting into valving.

My .02 worth I have the TTX on my 2010, once I found someone that understood the workings of the Ttx- I love it However, it is a bit 'special' with it's needs, recommended 50 hour service intervals, not near the 'street' info for what valving you need etc. IMO if you go with Ttx get in touch with Evan at Solid Performance in Pa. Might be worth a call to Evan about your Reiger as well. Reiger/Ohlins are a little in the same boat it appears, they are both high end companies and not 'every suspension guy' understands what to do with them either.

I will have my Ttx as long as I can see, works the best since Evan worked his magic (I have the Ttx cartridges in my forks as well)

I know suspension is personal, but I can't see why you'd change the reiger shock, it's fantastic.

I bought my bike ( 2014 Factory Replica 300 ) used, and it came with the Ohlins TTX suspension front and rear. The owners manual that came with everything lists the shock as a TTX 44 MX / part number 07253-02_0. I remember the previous owner told me that he had originally had the suspension mounted on an older Gasser. He liked the TTX stuff so much that he swapped suspension and sold the older bike with brand new unused 2014 suspension.
