Help Please

Well, just ran to the garage to see and all I see is black shrink tubing but I didn't lay an eyeball on the CDI, where the heck is it? the rear sprocket he gave me is a 49t and the counter is a 13t.

I don't think it has a fly wheel weight. Put the 49 sprocket on it and give it a try. I still think the 48 would be the way to go on that machine.

The CDI is under the rear part of the tank. Remove the seat and you can see the harness where it exits the box. A stock 300 CDI has black shrink tubing.

It's definetly black, Will take advice Boomhauer and go with 48t, what do think about cylinder? with the work that has been done to it, will I lose reliability?

It should be fine, as long as it doesn't run hot. Its probably just slightly modified, otherwise it would be unridable. What you have to ask yourself is, is it fun to ride or too much of a handfull? Thats the reason to change things.

The portion of shrink tubing that Glenn mentioned is what exits the CDI box. It's the short portion of tubing before the mass of connectors not to far from it.

By the way, I'm glad to hear you got the bike. Sounds like a great bike once you get things sorted a bit. A 12oz flywheel weight and G2 throttle will make it more controllable. If that's not enough, you could swap the K2 ignition for a K3 for more inertia effect.

Regarding the "snappiness" of the engine, another possibility would be to adjust the powervalve setting. If it is coming on too quickly, perhaps a slight adjustment in the rpm engagement would help fine-tune your power delivery.

For Reference:
I noticed Fury1 posted the following link in our 2-stroke Engine section. Thought it would help you out on the EFM clutch issues. In fact, LOWeed posted some comments in this thread and Woodrider had some good experience to share.

Yes, it's scary power! Never have rode anything like it and will definetly tone it down for a while with the G2, fly wheel weight and other suggestions. I was looking for 4t power in a 2t and I think I found it and more. Can't wait to try it again with a properly working clutch.

Thanks for your input and suggestions, this is cool!
