Jetting help for my 12 300

40 pilot
Cck 2 from top
Airscrew 2.5 out
175

Thats much better than the setting i had before , i did try the needle in the middle but it was bogging starting to bog again unless you rolled th throttle on real slow.

Righty oh , I got a Suzuki needle thanks to gassergrant , it's a nedw ...
How does that compare to the nedj ?

Thanks jake , i currently have n1ef , nedw, cek and cck with the cck in at the moment , i think my bike is running a bit hot with this needle as it there was coolent leaking from the overflow , but that may be to do with fitting the rekluse and trying to trials ride it , to my eyes the cek looks very lean but very progressive ,not sure about the cck as its in the bike at the moment , the nedw looks to be more linear than the n1ef , so im going to try the nedw for a bit today to see how that pans out, any thoughts on carb setup with that needle.
im off to wales in the morning so id like it to be right , any maintenance on the trail with a gas gas starts the ktm hyeenas with thier gas gas unreliability jokes:rolleyes:
Its one step richer from idle to 1/8th throttle.

40 NEDW#3/2 175/172 main. Should have it zippin around no worries. Seeing as you have the 40 and 175 in there already I'd just start with clip 2 for a test ride. Move to clip 2 if it feels too rich. Then after your weekend decide if you want to drop the main.

Not sure on the root diameter of the CCK but if the bike idles high when you put the NEDW in don't freak out immediately thinking its lean. Simply try to back the idle down to a good level.

Cheers jake your a star man as always , I'm just putting some more tungsten balls into the rekluse then I'll sort the carb , then out for a spin for an hour

Oops.. Start with clip 3.. Then move to 2..

Can you still get the slide out with the tank off? Or is it a remove the whole carb every time deal on the 2012s??

Yeah tank off to get slide out , but I'm having to take carb off to change jets

Sweet. Guess thats a bonus then that you can have a play with the jets that are already in there. I dread having to turn the carb to access the jets through the plug. Bugger having to pull the whole thing every time!

I suppose you could spin the carb ok if the slide was out , will have a go in a min

Anyways Diggsy. I'm off to catch some well deserved zzz's. Look forward to hearing how you got along in the morning. Cheers Jake

That was much better , just a little boggy right off idle though , then hold on to your hat baby:D

Just fine tune with the pilot. Try going richer, and leaner and get a feel for what gives the best off idle response. Hangin to see the vids! Cheers

Tuned the pilot to 1.5 out and still have this bogging around 1/8 throttle , great but long day out , set off at 5 am and just before midnight when I get home

Sounds like a big day mate! Hangin to see the vids. Enjoyed your last lot immensely. 1/8th throttle is how I would describe the needle diameter having the biggest effect. If its a lean bog Ie crack the throttle and it feels like it misses or wants to stall then you'll either need to go up a diameter, or a larger pilot. If its the other where its burbling and 4 stroking consider going to the NEDJ. A clip position change will have some effect around here too but more so at 1/4 throttle and will continue through more of the range.

Couple of pics for you , all the ktms were stuck on the last hill wheel spinning :D

Hahah! Diggsy diggin the gasser turnout. Look at all those 2012s. Not so sure about the man lovin! Haha! I'm sure I've got a video of 2 blokes pumping up a tyre somewhere. Looks pretty shady from the angle I was standing. :D
