Looking for a new hydration backpack

I'm sure Girard told you I've been there, met him and Robby. Great guys, can't thank them enough for helping me. Actually everyone I had to deal with was great. Much less Ahole density then NJ! :D Unfortunately I saw a lot of the hospital and hotel in Houston and not the local woods. If I was single with no baggage I would give it a go. One thing I do have going for me here is I ride right out of my garage door.

i ordered a geiggerrig. neato and built tough. we will see how it works on the trail. lifetime warranty on a hydration pack? i bet i'll get some use outta that... i kill one a year...

i use the ogio flight vest, best gear organizer, water pack, and customer service I have seen and ive been though lots of camelbacks. the bladder it comes with is super tough and opens wide at the top easy to clean or add ice, the hose is easy to deal with as well. it has a tool specific compartment, a small rain jacket pocket on the back. pockets for snacks, goggles, phone,gps/radio, and whatever else you need for a full day of exploring. i also like the weight distibution its comfortable and the one size fits all tensioning system works with armour under or not. and when i hung myself in a tree upside down in it and ripped the jacket compartment apart, when i got home called ogio canada and they gave me crash replacment(wasnt free but a good deal for something i destroyed) at the store i bought it at !!!!!! ( any other bag would have shredded as well and probably been a pain to get to work again) since riding with mine a couple riding buddies have also converted to the vest way.

GasGasMan turned me onto the zacspeed stuff, or someone that rides with him anyway :)

Look for the Exotec RP-3 or the Exotec SP-3 (bigger)

After using several cheapo options, I bought one of these about 4 years ago. Best money I've spent & it works with my Leatt as well. Fully loaded, mine weighs probably 16-18 lbs & you hardly know you're wearing it - even after 6 hrs., cause it distributes the load so well and also allows air to circulate. Tough as nails also.
Can't imagine using anything else.

For a trail ride I think these vests are fantastic. They distribute the weight well over your shoulders (not your back like most hydration packs do) and it allows you to carry a stack of tools / supplies on the ride. Yep it does weigh a bit when you are tooled up, but you just don't seem to notice it when you are riding. Also works well with my Leatt.

I don't use for competitive events, bit too bulky, I don't need the tools / supplies and it can get a bit hot when you are pushing hard.

They are! I miss riding with them, been over a year I think. Two shoulder surgeries and then I was just getting back in the swing and had a breakout of shingles over my head, forehead, eyebrow and eyelid... I feel like Dr. Smith on Lost in Space, "The pain, oh the pain..." Been about 4 weeks and I am beginning to wonder if it will even end. Somedays are better than others, today it is like someone is sticking a hot poker in my eye... but I do have a new longer cable on order for the GasGas and finally replaced the float o-ring, this weekend, that that been sitting on my desk for 5 weeks waiting for my head to stop hurting long enough to go out and fiddle with it. Getting old sucks, do we have a getting old sucks thread?

geigerrig has worked well for me. better built than most of the other companies. they honor their warranty (sent me a new pack after i broke one. i normally go through 2 hydration packs a year... ) that lifetime warranty makes it totally worthwhile. they fedex ground replacement pack, and provide return shipping label to send old one back.

the least expensive one (the rig) is what i'm using - it has a small internal zipper packet big enough for spark plug/wrench/etc.. the slide top fill is nice to put a whole frozen bottle of water "ice cube" (slice frozen bottle open and drop the 'ice cylinder' in...)

there's a deal on them online right now.
