arickd,

I am a colorado guy that is looking to head to AZ in a few weeks to ride. Near flagstaff I have ridden the Pullman/ airport loop but I need some information on the trail that goes around the Arizona snow boul. Is it still open? Single track? How many miles is it? Your opinion of the trail. My brother in law has converted from mtn biking and lives in sedona but there is not to much single track in the area. I have heard cotton wood is good but don't know where to go. I live in Breckenridge colorado and would be more than happy to exchange knowledge some day if you are ever up this way. Thanks. My email is drew.thetfordlandscping@gmail.com.

flagstaff/sno-bowl

Fantastic stuff but they are closing it Dec 1 2011.(after long hard fight)
They already have snow but is still rideable. Better get going. No worries, we are already cut'n in new stuff!
I am not Rick but if you don't hear from him soon give me a shout and I will do my best to help you out.

You'll get a goodly amount of response if you log onto http://www.arizonatrailtalk.com/

Some say the trails around "The Peaks" are almost (but not quite) Colorado-like.

It'll be getting very cold up there soon (8,000 feet MSL), so you might want to head down to Phoenix to ride "The Mile Markers," Sycamore, or Wildcat.

You could ride The Peaks all day long. There's the "West Side Trail" over by FR 151. Then Lippizanner. Then "The Peaks" trail which could take you all the way around the mountain for multi-multi hour ride.

There are two places to ride in or around Cottonwood/Sedona/Prescott.

Alto Pit (Yavapai County) (west of Prescott). Pretty easy riding.

Also, Hayfield Draw which is between Cottonwood and Camp Verde on the 260. Varied riding including a "tot lot."

Thanks for the info.

Thanks
How many miles around the "peaks trail" or around the AZ snowboul area. Multi hrs ride is 5 hrs or 8hrs? As far as finding the other areas all I have is an arizona gazateer map which is good but I will need some more help from you guys. I promise any time you are up here I will show you where to go. Thanks for the help

I am told it's 70 to 80 miles and a whole day to get around it.

For advice, contact these guys... http://www.coconinotrailriders.org/
