My first GG - and she's beautiful!

I've been a member of this forum for a year or so, but have only ridden orange bikes for the past 14 years. I've owned at least a dozen of all different sizes. My buddy bought this Nambo in October 2011 and proceeded to doll it out even more than it was already. He bought these nice wheel so that he had two sets, mounted a damper, pipe guard, radiator braces, etc.

Anyway, life circumstances kept him from riding it much (about 30 hours of use) and last month he decided he wanted to go back to a four stroke Husaberg. So, he made me a screaming deal in order to raise money for the new bike. I'm getting the suspension sorted for my type of riding, then we'll be ready to rip!

Thanks, all. Brian - I have ridden it before and always liked the motor and the handling, but the suspension was set up for my buddy's 200 pound frame. I weigh 150 soaking wet, so it was always riding too high in the stroke for me. I tried to set the rear sag with the stock spring on the TTX shock (52 N/mm) but I can't get the numbers to work out right. When I get about 100 mm of rider sag, I have 45 mm of free sag, which tells me I need to go to a lighter shock spring.

nice bike... did not know any nambo's were in ok..

Congrats on the GG! You were in the right place at the right time. If you need to soften it up I have two Ohlins yellow springs with very low use 4.6 & 4.8 cheap!

I just pulled the spring off the shock this morning and checked it in my spring tester. It measured right at 5.2 kg. I also had another spring off an 888 Ohlin, and it is longer than the TTX spring. It won't fit. Dimensionally, the TTX spring has about 63 mm ID and is 245 mm long.
I think I'm going to need a 4.8 or 4.9. Do either of you guys know if your springs will fit?

Unfortunately as you've found out, the springs from the 888 range don't cross over to the TTX. The TTX has a larger ID. From all accounts Ohlins does aim to have the static sag fall around the 35-40mm mark, and ideally you want to achieve this with as little preload as possible (around 10mm). The gassers will steer still well with 115-120mm of race sag, however I personally like around 105-110mm.

Ciongratulations on the new ride. Shes a looker!

Thanks. Since I live in the Oklahoma City area, I'm pretty sure I can get the spring I need from Cannon Racecraft. Speaking of them, someone told me they no longer offer their silencer. Know anything about that?

Some would say arguably but I would say for sure, the best GG platform made. And it looks that you've got a very nice one. Enjoy!

I'd strap six gallons of water around my waist and go ride! That is one beautiful bike, and you did very well. Welcome aboard.

I've been dealing with Richard at House of Horsepower in Oklahama City, he seems to have a bit of gear for the Gassers, especially suspension wise. I think he has two silencers left - one's mine ;)
