I would think that rod thing would be connected to the cam? Or am I just freaking nuts? I have attached a picture of mine, and the one below is from another thread.

Thanks
Rob

Is yours the big pic or small one.Big one is right, small one ???????????????????????/ wtf happened

Yep, mine would be the small one... first time I have had this off so I don't know? Factory Direct, as they say. is that what happens when the weld breaks off?

Yeah, the stud broke off of the cam on yours. Good news is it should run way better when you get it fixed. Bummer.

There's your answer. Cheap part, easy fix. They should really re-design that part, the rest of the PV is bulletproof.

I may call halls tomorrow and see if they will get me a new cam, or maybe Clay will....lol. No GG dealers near katy, tx, so popping in for a quick warranty job is not so easy :(

FYI: Hall's Cycles is sending me a new cam plate $0.0 as a warranty item.
Trying to decide if I want to drain things and adjust the tension on the power valve rod or not. ..

I think that I may have to wait until it cools down. 90 in the barn at night and I just wilt. thinking about a port-a-cool, but I wonder how well they work in Houston, TX.

Ktm had a simular problem on some of their bikes...the fix was the weld the back side of the pin so it wouldn't fall out and get lost in the bottom half of the motor.

I remember seeing those when I got my '09 300xcw. My pin was welded on the back, just looked either like it didn't get any penetration into the pin itself from the back, or the pin had a casting issue because it looks like it has a bubble in the middle. A buddy of mine used a little more CO2 and got some deeper penetration this time :)
