Need help with my Marzocs

Compression clicker all the way out.
Front Sag 55mm
Rear Sag 120mm

They seem too be hard hitting over small lips and rocks. The rest of the time they feel great.

Someone said that my bushes may be worn? They have had a long life, would this cause this? They look worn but not as if all the coating is gone.

Advice needed please.

Try 7.5W oil at 120mm. Worked a treat in my 06 EC300.

Did you have the same problem as me?

I have run 7.5w @ 100mm, more or less the same problem.
Does that height at 120mm and adding that 20mm of air give more of a cushion?

What is your rebound set at?
Less oil means fork goes into its stroke more before reacting but heavier oil means it will react slower as the thicker oil is harder to push through the holes in the spacers..... I think?

I haven't had 'zokes apart but on my WP's all I did was measure how much the spring "squished" when I installed the cap that holds it. Think of your rear shock.... Install the spring on the shock and measure it's length. Run the adjusting ring down and crank it down after it contacts in order to set its preload (or the bikes "sag") Now measure the spring length again and subtract it from the original "free" length. That is the preload amount. It's the same for the front fork springs. On my WP's there are shims that are used to increase or decrease the preload. Easy stuff. Good luck.

Hi there! I am new to this forum and firstly I want to say hi to all you guys and thank you for this great site.

But now to the problem.

I just installed a new fork cap on my Gas Gas EC 300 which is the 2003 model, and now the rebound adjuster on the new fork cap doesn't "click". The old one has a nice clicking sound and feel when you turn it but this new one has no clicks at all. I think it works just fine though, and it moved just like the old one but it would be nice to feel the clicks, it would make it a lot easier to adjust the settings. And yes, it is installed correctly, and the adjuster on the other forkleg works just fine.

So I wondered if it's just the new cap that is missing the "clickmaker" or if there is something else wrong with it. I didn't see any difference at all between the new and the old one. Oh and yes, the fork is a Marzocchi Shiver.

Don't know yet if it rides better or worse than before, kinda hard to notice any difference when there's 50 cm of snow acting as an additional shock absorber

And one more thing: Don't ever use 2,5w oil in the zokes if it's not below -20 degrees celsius. On summers it's just plain suicide, bounces off every obstacle. On winters when it's so cold you won't go riding it works just fine though.
