The more I read the more I drop the price on my bike. Only problem I see is parts, I live 45 minutes (if that) from Clay and the Gas Gas headquaters here in Ga but the closest dealer is about 3-4 hours away

How do you post pictures? I thought I knew how, but something doesn't seem to be working.
Just to be sure the air screw is the little brass screw. And the black plastic ended screw idle.
Well just got my suspension back from Les. I had him lower it a bit due to my short legs..
Put everything back together and the motor ran terrible. It would not idle. I played with air screw/idle screw with no luck. I dropped the needle a notch which helped slightly. Not sure which direction to go, I am a novice with the jetting stuff.
It bogs at the bottom, gets alittle better mid range, then cuts out again from 3/4 to wot.
It would at least idle before and had bog mostly bottom. I just thought I do need to check ckoke tto make sure it isn't stuck.
I wouldn't of thought jetting to be off this much. It is probably about 10 degrees hotter now than it was about 3 weeks ago.
Any suggestions.
Also, do I open up the vent hose that comes out of the front of the engine. It came zip tied off.
I'll play with it more and give update. I plan to take it out tomorrow. Just thought I would see what advise I could get befoe I went out.
Thanks
Yep. Just cleaned it and it idled better. I'll see how it goes tomorrow. Thanks Clay. I'm still impressed how quick you respond.
Thanks
No Clay, I think the bike was set up fine. I think most all bikes have to be "tinkered with" to get set up properly depending on climate/altitude/etc.
Bike did better today. Handled great. Starter would not engage occasionally.
Jetting will need attention. Bog on bottom, smoother mid range, decreased power from 3/4 throttle to WOT. Lots of spooge from exhaust. (running rich) I had to put bike on reserve within a hour, while my son's bike still had half tank, which I would expect him to use less (KTM200xcw, I know, I know it's orange).
Just wondering, for a novice jetter such as me, should I buy several different jets/needles and play with it or just get the JD Jetting kit to take most of the guess work out and be done with it.
Yea Jakobi, I just finished looking over on jetting.
I see that you are the Jetting Guru here on this site.
I have seen you have recommended for a couple people:
NEDJ or NECJ needles might get one of each
40/42 Pilot
172/175/178 main
I would spend the money for JD if it would be better, but not sure that it is.
I think I will start something from this list, report outcome then fine tune accordingly.
Thanks for Advice
