Pistons and gasket kits.

I'd like to hear your input, suggestions and experience with piston manufacturers you all have enjoyed using in freshening up your top end.
Longevity, reliability and fitment of ones that work well and even those that don't.
I like to hear what peoples experiences are so if you would be so kind as to share I'd sure appreciate it.
The same with gaskets too please, what are YOU using and what is it you like or dislike about certain brands.

Put a wiseco in my 200, last owner had done the rings but said it hadn't needed them, yeah right. When I pulled apart they were indeed fine but I put new kit in. Was a wiseco on there from new it seems on the 200 of that era.

My 300 the vertex was toast. Put a woosner in and my mates one, lovely kit. Pulled apart 3 yrs ago to replace leaking base gasket and again early this year to do crank. Decided after measuring to put back in as is. Rings about 1/3 worn, piston looks good. That's like 7 years.

Bought cometic gaskets. They seem ok.

I recently rebuilt my 2004 EC300 top end.

Used an S3 piston kit - was a good price and seems to be good quality, completed about 15 hours and haven't experienced any problems. I was careful to file the piston rings to get the correct end gap, this is the same with all manufacturers.

Used an Athena Full Gasket Set - again this was a good price and good quality. The gaskets all fitted perfectly and I had no problems.

Hope this helps you, all the best, Dave.

2x wossner top ends from new, just ticked over 210hrs and due for another,@60-80hr intervals on a 13 200.the original was vertex.no issues

Great info from you all. Much appreciated, seems wossner is a winner. Not discarding any if the others tho. Wossner makes good pistons tho. I knew vertex were in a lot of ktm's from factory so that says something about them too.
Trying to get any kind of deal I can it bring cyber Monday. So far wossner said they'd do free shipping today only. Will be calling wiseco and vertex next.
