pwk 38 as1 - as2?

Hello, can anyone tell me if the PWK 38 as1 and the PWK 38 as2 are same other then the slide cap?....... Reason for the question is i have a 2010 300 jetted to perfection and would like to use those settings in a 2013 300 as start.

They both jet very differently.

The AS2 has a much shallower bowl, and float height is only 6.5mm vs 16mm on the AS1. The caps are different too. Other factors which may also influence your jetting is the slide (and whether it has a notch cut in it).

Generally we've found the AS2 and AS1 will jet similarly regarding needle clip position and main, but the AS2 favours a much leaner diameter and pilot configuration. IE, if you were running an N3EG in the AS1, a N3EJ would be comparable on the AS2.

No worries. You'll also find there's been some changes to the engine between the 2010 to 2013 models and most report the newer engine is even stronger again. I know of a few people getting along well with the Suzuki needles, 42 NEDJ#2 172/175 mains, or alternatively 42 N3CJ#3 178 will run crazy strong with an aggressive mid range transition. Each needle available through Suzuki, or KTM/Yamaha respectively, for $10-$15.

A JD Red will get you out of a pickle if you have one spare but is far from the best. The JD Blue was reportedly a very good solution on the AS1.
