I've used Excels on my last bike with no issues. I just had some new hoops laced up to some Talon hubs, very nice. The A60s are about as tough as you can get. They are about 15% stiffer than regular Excels. You can't go wrong with either. Not sure about the DID stuff, good luck.

If not Talon then you can get RAD hubs, which are made in USA.
They have a sale for a COMPLETE set Front & Rear with DID rims for $799....But think that is only for Honda's. Damn that is a good deal !!!

Another great rim is Sun Rims which are made in US by Buchanan Spokes.....Very good product as the way the weld the rim together is a lot stronger then the Excel weld joint which is usually where a rim will fail under major forces.

I have Talon hubs on mine. However I have not found them in Talon's online catalog so they may be discontinued.

There is nothing wrong with GasGas OEM hubs manufactured by AJP in Portugal. Maybe not too shiny but technically these seem to be quite okay. In case some upgrade is needed there is also Nambotin replica wheelset based on Haan hubs. But things are different with rims - I do knot know which are the best ones available on this side of the pond.

Totally agree with you on the OEM hubs. I have the 2010 red ones on my 2012.
Actually here in the States I know that most of the Professional Supercross/Motocross guys use the OEM hubs. For example the Honda team gets their hubs polished and anodized red. They believe the OEM hubs are stronger.

Yes. Darren got the complete kit from Dubya (via Dearborn
) with gold Talon hubs, colored spokes, spline drive nipples, and Excel rims. I've seen fancy wheels before, but when I opened the box on these my jaw dropped.

+1 I have no issues with OEM hubs but I sure don't mind a little bling here & there ! (leftover from my MX days I guess)

Will do! They are an awesome set of wheels. I didn't think Talon was making GG hubs, but Steve made some calls. I can't wait to spoon on new tires and scratch up those beautiful black rims with tire irons

Fantastic ! Very good looking. Was that the OEM brake disk or did you applied it when getting the new hub ?

OEM would fit just fine, I scored a floater off a Cervantes replica. The Trailtech magnet is machined into one of the buttons, very slick.
Time to resurrect the thread again. I am again searching for rims, and still have not found a source for top quality rims drilled for GasGas hubs.
Do Talon and Goldspeed hubs use GasGas OEM spoke pattern or are they using more standard rims with their hubs? How about Haan? Did Haan-equipped replica wheels use OEM rims?

Regarding Talon I don't know, but as I have a set of Talon wheels, I can try to compare them to my OEM wheels.
If you check the parts manual for the 11 Cervantes and Nambotin replicas, it seems like the rims have the same part no as used on the std bikes. If memory serves me right, these replicas had Haan hubs.

I personally think that having this kind of non-standard drilling pattern is a really bad idea and something that can be fixed easily in future models without sacrificing wheel compatibility. If there is anyboby who can influence engineering and marketing guys in Spain somehow please give them some input regarding rim compatibility.

The spoke pattern is not exactly like the OEM pattern, but not that different either.
