Roscoe's Ridiculously Rad Ridge Ride

I love the downhill Dirtbike extreme difficulty sign. We don't have signs like that on the east coast. You only figure out the difficulty level when your sliding down the hill all puckered up ! Lol

Ha Ha! Ya these are more than hills, they are mountains and can be life threatening or cause serious injury for a inexperienced rider. Or a rider may not be able to get back out once down in the bottom.

Just happened last weekend to a couple guys I was reading. That particular trail has some near vertical switch backs on the other end.

Its kind of like a black diamond ski run, you wouldn't want a novice to go down it.
Up in another area the have signs that say expert riders only :)

I grew up riding in the Hills of WV and trust me they are nothing like the Mountains out here in the west:eek:
Roscoe sorry I was unable help out last week my fiancee had other plans for me. LOL Keep the rubber side down and have a safe and great ride!

Yea I meant to say mountain but I don't doubt that they are a bit larger than on the east coast. We have a lot of near verticals up in ny state as well that seem to just keep climbing up to the heavens with switch backs bowling balls size rocks etc.... I love a challenge like that but I definitely respect the danger as well. I'm totally good on the uphill's but some of those near vertical downhills definitely still get me all ginked sometimes. Especially when you get a rider ahead of you that's braking / sliding and your coming up on them quick with no real area to pass. Enjoy your ride and be safe guys.

Wheelieman if you ever get the chance to come out here and ride you should jump on it! The Mountains are amazing especially in the Little Naches area. There is also some great desert riding close by :)

They are getting a good show up there tonight. I know I sat on my porch and watched the lightning for a couple hours. The sky is lit up like the 4th of july. :D

I'm about to head to work. I hope I make it to the truck without getting struck by lightning...oops! hijack.

What a ride! Another one in the books.

We got a late start as I stalled the start waiting for those that RSVP'd and hadn't showed yet.
I had several no shows, boy did they miss out. They must have felt the heat as the event closed in. My mountain rides are quite demanding.;)

Started off with 11 including me. Second loop down to 9 including me.

Mother nature did us right. Hard rains the night before made it virtually dust free with Velcro traction. I mean I blasted up stuff I normally struggle with when it's silty. On the infamous Greek Creek trail the rains actually made it harder as most of the soil was gone and a deep rain rut filled of trail trash large rocks and root steps we left to traverse back out. A couple bikes were boiling over once back on top as well as the riders.

We did have a couple mechanical issues Stu had a rear brake issue and retired early on and Don got a flat about 10 miles out from the finish and rode it in like a champ. We zip tied his tire on and he traversed Greek creek like that. That's bad ass, he claimed it helped him with traction through there.

87 miles of Bliss, by the way does that number look familiar?

We were on our bikes for around 6 hours with multiple bench racing and breather breaks.

As far as a benefit I probably broke even with the low turn out unless people were really generous, which I wouldn't doubt. I will know on Tuesday when I open the donation box at our club meeting.

Here are a link to a few pics I took, there are 2 pages. Its hard to take a lot of photos when your the host and trying to keep pace in front of some very good riders.

Awesome pics...I'm jealous:D

Looks like a good challenge.I've never ridden that area.Added challenge when you hook up with the maniacs on their home turf.Every bump, trap, hill and gotcha wired.Takes a diabolical mind to put something like that together.Reminds me of someone I used to know.Got an age limit on this baby?
