Stupidity..

I have been struggling to get the bike running good since I rebuilt the top end, Ive been through pretty much every permutation of jetting you can do. And have still not been happy. Changed pistons again as well!

The bike was never the same, some days it ran like a champ other days like a dog, so I'd pretty much decided it was an electrical problem, so tracked down and bought another cdi, coil and regulator and still no joy..

Had almost given up as its been driving me insane and then I've been miserable at home. Decided to leave it alone over the Xmas period and just enjoy some downtime with the family.

We were going out to visit some friends the other night, and the other half said if I'd drive there she'd drive back but she wanted to take her car, so I started to drive her car, and it ran like a dog.... Wouldn't rev properly, and kept stalling.

Had water in the fuel.

Check the bike.....

Water in the fuel.

We've recently moved and have been using the local little garage, evidently her car had been rough since we'd moved, but she had t wanted to trouble me!

Replaced fuel in the bike and lo and behold perfect bike again!

Stupid is my new name.

Just note it as a life lesson, thats what i do when i overlook something, i've had lots of issues of looking over the small stuff or not even thinking about it at all.
Glad the steed is up and running to its full potential again

Glad you got it sorted :)

Fuel, spark, and compression. Seems you had planned on it being the later 2! Isn't it always the way!

I did the same thing. Went to enduro all ready to go and the bike would not run. It ran perfect the day before but I got gas at different location the night before and had water in it.

Yeah, and I found out no matter how hard you kick or how long you hold the e-start button, the damn thing won't start with the boot off the spark plug!!!

Also remember, when you pull the jug off to inspect if there are any bits of reed petals in there......put the pipe back on before you start it! Did that last night with the wife standing there. I think I wet myself as she screamed bloody murder!!!

Todd5774, you are not alone.

hey.. we all do stupid things... 2nd ride on my almost brand new 300.. sunk it up to the gas cap in the canadian river... had to pull it back to the truck..
called my bud, we went thru the procedure.. what ever it takes get oil changed and air filter out, clean carb, drain case, get hot, change oil yada yada yada..
got it home, still in a panic, start working on it.. cannot get it started..

the wife says..."will those things run with the exhaust plug in it ?"""

doooohhhh...
