Has anybody got any thing to say about Ironman or Supersprox i am thinking of getting one of these are they worth the extra money against renthal or talon? I am guessing that there is not much in it for wear out of the two does anybody know which is lighter ?

and lastly who's doing some good chain sprocket deals i am in the UK but with the good exchange rate to dollers it may be worth ordering from USA

I put a Stealth (now Supersprox) rear sprocket on my '01 GasGas XC300 (with a new chain). The stealth rear sprocket showed notable wear and tooth deformation at 680 miles.

I put an Ironman rear sprocket on my '06 EC300 (with a new chain). The Ironman rear sprocket has 600 miles on it and it shows slight wear.

I also put a new Ironman front sprocket on my '01 XC300 with a used chain. The Ironman sprocket has 960 miles on it and it has very little wear. Typically a Sprocket Specialists front sprocket would last about 600-700 miles before it started hooking.

The stealth sprocket is not warranteed against wear.

The Ironman has a 1 year wear out warranty.

The Ironman is notably lighter than the stealth sprocket.

Personally, I would not buy another Stealth Sprocket. I plan on only buying Ironman sprockets from now on.

sprockets

Cheers that was good to know ! Ironman sprockets are nearly 3 times the price of Talon or Renthal do you think they last 3 times longer ? i guess if i use a good chain (DID 520ERT) it should save changing this with the sprockets as its not good to put old and new together!

Ironman is very good. I had a rear on my '03 outlast 2 chains. They last forever but will bend if you tag a rock, thats what finally killed it. I have a brand new set ready to go on my '07.

You need to compare the Iron Man to the new Renthal Twin Ring sprocket and not the regular one. The Twin Ring is big $$$ as well but might be easier for you to get than the Iron Man which I have no idea about availability in Europe. The Twin Ring is Renthals version of the Supersprox but probably better.

I have experienced good wear with the supersprox "stealth" and would not hesitate to order one again. Not sure what issue Eric had - a stretched out chain will wipe out any sprocket. Something obviously went wrong...

Supersprox is now selling the stealth again in the u.s. - for a while they were only available via krause sidewinder, etc.

That said, I will probably try the renthal twin ring next time around.

I installed a new RK GB520GXW chain when I put the stealth sprocket on. The stealth has worn much faster than the Ironman. The stealth teeth even mushroomed out about 0.004" on the width in the first 900 miles.

Ironman is my top pick. Further, the Ironman is noticeably lighter than the stealth.

Right now I read something about the Iron Man sproket front and rear.
I read about unbelievable 1000h with 1 rear sproket.crazy!!
Can anyone acknowledge this long time.
Which solid material is this?
How long will work a front sproket?

I have a Supersprox on the rear with well over 600m on it. Still looks like new with no signs of wear. Maybe a little more money and might be a tad heavier but I like it. It takes the abuse of rocks and anything else I throw at it.
I think the thing is the keep it well maintained and lubricated.

The perspective of your picture is very bad.600m is nothing thats 30h.
I use cheap (20€) steel sprockets with DID VM 520 in very bad conditions - after 90-100h the chain is dead.
My old Supersprox don't work longer.
May be u can use the sproket (now with shark teeth) for 50h more
but the chain don't thanks you this :D

iron man all the way. i bought my bike fourth hand and it still has the same sprocket. its coming up on the wear limit very soon, but not yet. the website claims to have gone through several sets of chains before killing an iron man, and their test bike was a 525 ktm. they also do a test where they mount a rear sprocket to a locked down hub, then hook a chain around it. the chain will snap long before the sprocket will. and they warranty it, you screw it up in the first year, and they replace it. they got my vote hands down.

The problem is when the iron man sprocket comes to the wear limit
the abrasion of your new expensive chain is very high.
Is this money well spent.

my ironman rear shows almost no wear after 300+ hours (in a little over a year). the front hooked in about a year, and they sent me a new one free. i think i could easily see 2 or 3 years out of the rear, with regular maintenance/chain renewal.

i would think that if you got to the point where you were worried about that, you would simply wait until the chain on the worn sprocket wears out, then purchase a whole new set of sprockets and chain. for how long the ironman lasts i think its worth the price.

Mine also presented signs of wear in the first 300 miles and then it stabilized, now has around 1000 miles and it's good to go.
