Hi all,

Done a search could not find the answer to this, The top and bottom shock bearings, what are they? Does anyone know the spec so they can be bought from a bearing supplier?

Thanks.

Im going to bump this one, lower shock bearing is ?14 ($25) top one is ?50 ($80) what a rip off !!!!!!!!!

any ideas on the top bearing please, part number or what others bikes use the same bearing? mines wrecked.

Cheers.

The parts list for 2010 shows:
AL 1216 NEEDLES BEARING
SETTING WASHER 21X10.2X1
15X3,5 CONNECTING ROD O’RING BE25814015 2
D.16X21X10 / SHOCK ABSORBER BUSHING (LOWER)

I do not think there is an upper bearing - IMPORTANT QUESTION: WHAT BIKE IS IT FOR?

Hi, bikes a 2013 Ec250, sachs rear shock, I can find the top shock bearings for older bikes, up to 2010 easily for a reasonable price, they cost the same as the lower shock bearing, ?15. Newer bikes are hard to find apart from genuine parts.

Ok can't help you there, it doesn't even show it on the parts diagram http://www.gasgasmotos.es/en/manuals.html Probably best to just take it to a bearing supplier and see if they can match it up for you, that is what i normally do (as i have discovered that quite often the parts are not described correctly in the parts manual)
sorry!

This. Much easier to take a bearing in and let a bearing man run his calipers over it and say yay or nay. Generally you walk out with a better bearing for a better price.

Well I didn't want to strip the bike as its still rideable at the moment. If I have to wait ages for parts I will miss ride time but seeing I couldn't get a genuine parts I stripped the bike pressed the bearings out and it turns out the top and bottom bearings are the same, that's not what GGUK told me or tried to sell me for a stupid price! Went to a bearing place. Got both bearings for $43.

2013 EC250 Sachs shock top and bottom bearing number is GE12PW for future refrence. this is NOT the same as older bikes.

I like being able to read the deleted messages/rants! :D

Thanks for going through the drama and chasing the part numbers and posting them up for us Johnny.

I'm not sure if the Sachs and Ohlins use the same or different bearings, but I can confirm the difference in the 2011 to 2012+ models is due to the change in frame and linkage. The older models had the split clevis which sat over the link and used a needle roller. The newer ones use a spherical bearing pressed into the clevis which sits in the linkage.

Left it about an hour before phoning about the parts, had the right hump with the "experts" sending me the wrong bits for a high price, sorted now for less than half what the wanted.

Does anyone have an online source for the upper and lower bushings on the shock? My measurements showed them with the same dimensions, but they seemed more like bushings than bearings to me.

Sachs rear shock on my 2013 300 appears to have no lower bearing
Or bush, just a bolt through the shock bottom.
Rear wheel off and there is play up and down 1-2 mm
Am I missing something??

Got a picture?

Where are you picking up the play? At the bottom mount? Top? Should definitely be a bearing in the lower mount of a 13, with the bolt itself acting as the inner bush.

I have used a lower shock bearing from my 2014 Sachs in my STX46 Ohlins. The inner diamater is not the same, but if I used the spacers from the Sachs unit too, all was fine.
