ttx inserts or LTR rework on Sach 48's

Have a 2010 300 I like quite a bit. Was wondering for the cash what would be better.

I ride single track mostly. Very little above 3rd gear. I think the rework would be more bang for the buck but since I know very little about suspension other than my bike has it...I thought I would ask you smart fellas.

Disclaimer: I'm not a "smart fella" when it comes to suspension.

For slower speed trail work, the OC forks can be made to work perfectly.
The TTX would be a lot more coin, so "bang for the buck" would be a revalve.

I give VERY high praise for Les's work and his customer service.

Very true. Quite a few happy customers with the OC designs. I also know a few people who had their Sachs revalved several times in Australia and never quite gelled with them. Possibly more a tuner issue though.

As Ando said, evaluate what and how you ride. Bang for buck is the revalve. TTX even on special will be $700usd plus another $100 for springs. You get a great fork, but still no guarentee that the valving will suit your terrain/requirements. Add to that Ohlins specify more frequent service intervals (not that I have strictly followed them.. oops), and you special tooling required to even do a simple oil change, plus a nitrogen charge for each leg. So your running costs are going to be higher too. Probably why I haven't done mine as often as needed. They'll be done soon. I'll take photos!

Now personally, I have been stoked with the 2011 TTX inserts in my 2010 model bike. They track well, steer well, the clickers make a difference, the bike holds itself up in the stroke, but still soaks up the little hits and the large alike. I think they took my riding to another level, and have even saved my bacon a few times hitting things that the Sachs would have jarred my whole body on.

I just had Steve Beane at PlusOne Performance (aka Twowheels around here) revalve my Beta's 48mm Sachs forks. He took out the midstroke harshness but kept the fork from diving and using up a lot of it's travel - just like I asked him to.
Rode 4 days of singletrack in the UP around Marquette, including Bass Lake and the pretty darn tight Moss Lake loop. Worked really well here, I'd recommend his work, fast, affordable and good communication.

I just sent my 2013 forks to Steve, unfortunately I will have them back before I can ride again :) I went up 4 sizes on the front and rear springs, so they were way under valved.

Get the revalve. They can be made to work quite well, even by a numpty with no idea, so tuners specializing in the Sachs will be a whole different level.
