Twin Air aluminum filter cage.....

just talked to Gofasters, mine is shipping out today. I was told that the filter comes dry, i.e. no oil on it, which is just what I want, I like to use the biodegradable oil.

With the stock cage, you can rotate it 2" within the air box boot. The Twin Air is snug. No movement.

got mine & it is indeed oiled w/ the twin air bio. does anybody know if that oil is compatible w/ the no-toil cleaner? I have a ton of no-toil stuff that I'd like to use.

the new cage is pretty much a work of art, looks like a real quality unit.

If you take the time to make sure the stock cage fits snug, isn't that enough? Yes, it is tricky and a very poor design but I have not noticed that mine "flops around". Has anybody actually witnessed such a thing? If I had money to blow OR if I knew this would harm my engine I would definitely buy it.

The stock cage is OK IF your carefull. Plus, it seals on the flat and the inner edge of the airboot, the Twin-Air does not. What I don't like is the airboot being used as a sealing surface, as its not flat. I would rather have an alloy plate that goes over the airboot surface, a little smaller ID with three locating notches for the stock cage pins. I'm sure it would be less than $120 and use stock filters. JMO. Maybe I'll make a proto this winter.

Far too blingy! And no one can see it.
What was wrong with the plastic ones - mine works ok?
Do some people get dirt past theirs?

Its possible to not have the cage seated properly in the airboot even though it looks OK from the top. You have to get your hands in there and feel around the edge, don't trust a visual. Once its seated its fine. Just make sure your airboot lip surface is good with no imperfections.
