under powered EC200

Have heard from GG Spain and they have said that the HP is way under what it should be.....so, I have sent the barrel, head and piston to GG Australia for them to inspect and hopefully sought out....will keep you posted.
Cheers

Not sure if any of you ever saw the write up from TMX. The 1st time they tested the 200 it had got mixed up in the factory and was shipped with a 250 pipe which made it a real poor performer? May be worth checking?

well it has been about 4 months but now is good......gg aus found the wrong power valve had been fitted and rectified that for no real gain....so, many emails and phone calls later the complete engine was sent to the gg dealer in Holland ( who sets up the wec bikes ) ...... ports were all over the place, crank was out of balance, cases were'nt matched, timing could not be set correctly, squish was out. After all of this was rectified the end result according to gg is 42 HP. I am not going to dyno it myself because it is SO much better now, but I have since added a DEP silencer and set the jetting at...N1EG needle 3rd clip / 178 main jet / 45 pilot, with the last thing to be done, an oversize power valve cover which is on back order.
I AM HAPPY AT LAST ( although a year older )
cheers

Wow that's bad! That just shouldn't happen.

John at gasgas Australia paid for the freight to Holland and Wim at Oerlemans Offroad Shop provided the service free of charge, I was just lucky that my concerns of poor performance were noted after the first ride in July 2008.
PS, none of my emails to Spain have ever been answered, thanks must go to John as he has never doubted my complaints.
Cheers

1st....very happy your problem seems solved:D Please follow up with ride reports of the bike. Most would have gotten rid of the thing but it's great you hung in there for everyone benefit.

2nd....How VERY disapointing a production motor can be SO screwed up with so much wrong:mad: Does seem pretty common though with the transfers and squish being off from the factory from many posts.

3rd....This dealer in Holland does the factory bikes as well??? How did you end up finding/using them instead of the GG Spain factory (which you would think would be the place to send it).

4th....Just think of the potential in the 250/300 motors if they received the same treatment yours got:eek: :D

Can't wait to hear how it goes for you!!!

Glad to hear that your problem is taken care off, your motor should be in tip top shape now! Happy Trails!

if someone can tell me how to i will attach a picture of my 200....it seems that France and Holland have the biggest following of the 200 and I have a friend who is from Holland and he was the one who went to see Wim to see if he could offer any reasons for lack of performance and Wim was the one who offered to fix it.
Cheers

a quick update on the 200 .....I have fitted a Dep muffler and also gone to a 50 teeth rear sprocket BUT the biggest difference came from the use of octane booster which has made everything work together....maybe the octane booster might also help the guys who are complaning about excessive spooge and lack of power ? I now have a perfect plug reading, no spooge and plenty of power. My first race on the 200 is this weekend (40 gate start natural terrain mx ).
Can anyone tell me how to attach a picture of my 200 ???
Cheers

i just looked up that shop in holland since i live in belgium, the country right next to it :-p and found out the sad news that that shop (oerlemans offroad shop) has gone bancrupt :( how sad is that...

you are correct, it seams that GG werent paying Wim for warranty work that he had done for them and wasnt paying for new bikes that he had bought, so it all got a bit too hard and this is how it ended up.

Perhaps you could post the address and a name or two of the dealer in Holland who did the work. It sounds like they are very good.
