Using your Gas Gas on the road (highway)...(newbie!)

Hey guys, the little bottles hold 3.2 oz which would give ~40:1. Fits in my jacket pocket. Since I use Amsoil or Redline I'm sure that is a safe ratio even though I run 28:1. I consider this a backup plan. Like I said I do ride around on the street and if I go to Don's I might put 35-55 miles on a tank and I damn sure want to have good oil with me if I need some fuel! When I have used my little bottle in the past I put the oil in the tank and then about .8 gallon in. I bounce the bike up and down a few times to mix it up but I doubt it needs that. I've considered taping a bottle to the handlebars. I really hate the idea of running out of gas and not having proper oil!

I love riding the Ting Ting on the road. It's cool riding a 2 stroke, people just aren't used to seeing/hearing them....

I make my living "in the high end audio field", I build loudspeakers and audio gear. I have had many folks and all my daughters friends see my system and say "I have never heard a record, can you really play all those and does that thing work"? My turntable is what you might call "fancy" and looks a little "different". I'm always amused when that happens. I get the same feeling when I ride the 300. People stop and stare. I've had guys actually ask "what kind of engine is that!!!!???? WTF! Where these young boys been living?

I think the best one I've heard was " what is that big silver thing" . "Uh, that is the expansion chamber". "What does it do?" Trying to contain...."it's part of the exhaust system". "Oh, never seen anything like that before". I sigh, as I realize 2 strokes really are going away and that many young guys don't even know what one is. Just like my records and TT. Both analog and 2 strokes are superior and the youth will never know it.

Thanks for the input, Houndog. Do you have any issues mixing the oil in the tank from the listerine bottles while at a gas station? From all my searches, it seems like people put the oil in first, followed up by the fuel, and "slosh the bike around". I even considered bringing a 2nd empty bottle just to make sure it's evenly mixed.

Just put the oil in first, fill with fuel and shake the bike side to side for 10-15 secs . Been doing it this way for 20+ years - seizures = 0
Oil - Valvoline 2T racing @ 40:1

The new sherco 2 stroke X-ride doesn't have a big expansion chamber, it looks like a 4 stroke.

Kind of takes the fun out of it
