Wanted: Sachs Suspension

STM Suspension

New member
Hello.

It's been a busy season, and I'm just now getting the time to pick up the projects I had to put down in the spring.

I need to look around and see if there's still need for a 48 Zoke service kit...

But I'd really like to see if there is some Sachs suspension running around out there. Not being used would be nice, or if you're close, I'd love to have your bike for a couple weeks. I've done a couple sets this last year and it seems to be working ok, but I was too busy to benchmark everything and develop a comprehensive kit, which is what I'd like to do...

Or if you have a set of stock carts because you swapped out the Ohlins internals, I'd be interested in those, too.

Thanks, and I look forward to being around more this off season.

I have a set of carts you are welcome to play with Dave. Not sure how we'd go for postage getting them to you though.

FWW there are also at least 2 different cart sets that come with these things too.

That'd be sweet Jake. Let us see if anyone closer has a whole bike I could use for a little bit and go from there.

I have Simmo's old carts too but I've stolen all the shims :D

When you say two different carts do you mean the difference in cartridge (head/top? whats it called?) between yours from your 10 model (6 pronged cap) compared to mine and Simmo's from our 11's (4 pronged cap)?

Do we know if those two carts still ran the same stock valving?

Yeah yeah thats the differences I was getting at. As to internal valving its anyones guess. I've never cracked the cart open on mine.

Yeah, let me just hop on a plane. :)

Honestly, I'm looking into other solutions than using so much of the stock stuff... So missing shims not quite such a big deal.

Actually, it did.

I'm working on sourcing a kit that replaces the compression and rebound taps that use standard 6 and 8 mm shims.

I believe that some tuners out there are turning down the stock taps on a lathe to use the 6 mm shims but I'm not a machine shop...

When I have a valid solution that works completely, I'll post up here and on the website.

Thanks guys.
