Well, my sweet looking pipe guard didn't look sweet for very long.

Somewhere at some point in time dirt rider actually did a test to confirm this. It was crazy they dinged the pipe pretty hard and the bike gained horsepower! They bent the pipe right at the neck and it lost H.P.!?

On fmf's faq the say that dents and dings close to the head have a larger (negative) impact on performance

the p3 pipe guard seems to hold up well.mines been on for 50hrs through a lot of single track scrubbing.admittedly only a couple of soft drops but plenty of scraping.that said I should probably have a look behind it!

Does anyone know if P3 has gotten their act together? Last time I ordered a pipe guard or tired ordering a pipe guard from them I had to cancel after 8 months of no pipe guard and couldn't contact them or get any type of answer as to it's where abouts. I had to contact my credit card company to get my money back.

New owner, much better chance of getting what you need. Give them a call see if it's in stock. At least you can talk to someone now.

+1

Only comment is they don't have a guard that fits the 200 pipe, they have one for the 250/300s, but not current 200s (at least '11 and newer) - had to return my guard for a refund :(

Thanks OK my pipe is an FMF which is the same for the 200,250 and 300. I sent them an email and got a reply right away.

What year is your bike Dan? The last time I checked FMF's site, they didn't have one available for newer 200s (think the last year was '05 or '06). I sent an email to FMF and never heard back from them (same thing with a phone call - not terribly impressed with their customer service).

It'd be great if they had a gnarly pipe available for current 200s - going to need a new one at some point given the way I ride...lol.

Sorry for de-railing the thread :o

I ordered a p3 bashplate from nz.ex us took 10-12days,not bad I didn't think.put a p3 pipeguard on from new 13 200r.from memory the p3 pipeguard was for the 250?(I think) but fitted fine.good quality but pricey in nz$!liv2day this means they do make one that fits the later 200's....or that my pipe is a 250 pipe?

P3 did a good job on my bike.

Last ride was only in 1st picking through a rock garden and misplaced the front wheel right into a big pointy one. In hindsight should have throttled over it, but I was trying to stop prior to impact. Ended up balancing the bike, dead stopped by the rock into the base of the pipe after the front rolled over.

Bent the pipe at the header a bit. Bent both mounting tabs. Small dent on the seam below the pipe guard. Bit of massage and she's mounted up nice and straight again, ready for the next battle.

The 250-300 pipe works well on the 2011 200

The 250-300 pipe works well on the 2011 200

Really? I read an article some time back that indicated the 250 pipe on the 200 made the low-end grunt non-existent (though this was stock pipe and not FMF). Here's a link, take with a grain of salt as it's from '07: http://www.tmxnews.co.uk/bikes/Gas-Gas-EC-200-i99

The pipe I have on my 200 isn't stamped with a p/n (or number) like what's found on the 250s and 300s - this is what caused the folks at P3 a bunch of headaches when I told them it didn't fit. The fit was pretty close, but the gap near the header was too large and cranking the pipe clamp down caused the guard to bend in the fat part of the pipe - not acceptable for me (check pic).

Did you have to re-jet your bike after fitting the 250 FMF pipe on there Dan? Given the poor customer service I've received from FMF thus far, I'm inclined to go to House of Horsepower and use their pipe at some point.

barossi - my guess is they changed the expansion pipe on your '13 - can you check to see if there's a number stamped on it? It would make sense to have a standard pipe from 200-300 if it worked, but I don't know if that's the case. I know my pipe ('11 200) ISN'T the same as the 250/300s from the same year.

Just FYI my 12 200 came with a 250/300 pipe #BE3012.
Haven't tried my FMF gnarly pipe on it yet, it just runs too good to fool with.

Hey ,
Why don't you check out Pro power.
I had one of the prototypes and tried to wreck it . There are photos on the propower website showing my pipe after doing this. Not a dent in it.
I now have one of the blood red versions and cannot recommend them enough.
Get on their website and have a look....
There is also a spot there that asks for input into what else you may need.
Here is the link
