which one ?

I'm looking for a bike that will lug nicely through the single track scream up the logging roads and be a hoot on the open sand river rides.

To me that sentence says it all. If you want to lug, go with the 300. It will be much happier lugging around at low speeds than a 250. I've got a 300, and I just came off a YZ250 that had a flywheel weight on it. While the YZ would lug, it has nothing on a new 300. A 300 will pull you along at walking speeds over stuff that would be hard to walk. My 2 cents for what they're worth.

If you've ridden the trails in my area (chipmunk creek, nickelmine, vedder mtn and such) you will know how slippery and tight some of the trails are hence the needing something that will lug nice at slow speeds. The 300 is sounding more appealing every day. I cant wait to heal (lost my spleen when a blazer used me and my cafe racer as a speed bump) then I can head to the dealer and test one out.

Good luck finding a new 300. I heard that they are in short supply. Alot of demos should be up for sale now. I picked up a '11 300 for a song and a dance. About $3000 off of sticker.

Mr Chilliwacian, big sale at international today. With guys getting their tax returns, those new bikes are going fast.I will let you try my bike, but it is modded to me so much, not what you buy off the floor.Good luck ,we rode Vedder last night ,awesome!

Just sat on a 300 sixdays I must say what a sweet ride . Only one issue I seem to have a short inseam does anyone make a shorter seat ? There is no doubt I'm buying a gaser.

Dave Fair has put a short seat on one of the shop racer's bike . I sat on it on friday before we went out for a ride , and it was really short compared to my bike. it also had lowering links on it and the forks raised a bit . on my bike im on the tips of my toes , with this i was flat footed .
But a hard seat , less padding
Contact Dave Fair at gasgaspacific.com for more info on the seat

with out changing the links and moving the forks , i would think it would be about an inch or so lower
