Will a 2004 fuel tank fit a 2005?

I have a 2005 GasGas EC300 I use twice a year to ride in Baja with buds. I need more fuel range. IMS makes a 3.4 gallon tank for a 2004 model, but nothing for a 2005 model. I checked with IMS to verify fitment but they don't know. Anyone know if this will fit my 2005?

Thanks! Ignoring the $100 difference for 0.2 gallon more with an IMS, does this mean YES the IMS will fit since the Clarke tank fits 2004-2006 models without doing any mods?

I can't tell you for sure if the IMS tank would fit, sorry. However, if it were me and I read the Clarke Mfg description and note (that you must use an 04-06 seat), I would say it is "probable" that it would fit. Also, if it were me, I would get the Clarke tank. It says it fits, it's cheaper, and their tanks are fine. I say this as a buyer of both IMS and Clarke tanks over the years (just not this tank).

If you end up with a Clarke tank buy an oem Honda trx400 gas cap as the Clarke caps are made of cheese, I’ve broken 3 before I fitted the Honda cap and haven’t any issues since. There is also no way to bolt the tank down to the frame(by the steering neck) so the rubber strap and rad shrouds and seat are the only things that secure the tank
