i am looking to buy a gas gas 300 and wondering if someone could shed some light on the major differances from say 07-08 300 or a 2011 i am in the market to buy and found some good deals for 07 and 08 i am in sacramento and just wondered if someone has riden both bikes and pros and cons ? its time to ditch the pig crf 450x and go back to 2 smoke gota love it

Major differences are in the mounting and fastening hardware. 2011 has made some strides in the mounting hardware. (Caged bolts and more standardized sizes) As far as actual ride, depending on the suspension* they are the same geometry. If you buy a 2007 and want to update to a 2011 look there is now a kit that has it all for a decent price. Motors are essentially the same some very minor differences between the models. It seems that the 2011 motors are quite smooth but that may just be that they are new. Parts availability are nearly the same for the 2007 to the 2011. With that said there are so many manufacturers jumping on the GasGas products for the 11's and many of the parts will still fit the 2007.

I cannot think of anything that is so different and cannot be updated without little to no fabrication.

Now the 2011 Cervantes/Nambotin*** bikes have a different linkage that would be totally different.

Do you have a link for this kit? Cheers..

From what I can see, there is so little difference between the '07 and the '11 that I would let the hours on the bike and condition be my deciding factor. If you are looking for electric start, then you would need the new one. Frankly, I think the Marzocchi forks are better than the Sachs to begin with, but that is only an opinion, they both need a revalve.

Body work and fit and finish MUCH improved on the 2011s, but it isn't until 2012 that you get the new linkage.

I'd take the Sachs suspension over 45mm Marzocchis any.day.of.the.week, but then again I've been able to make them work.

The e-start conversion would be easier on an '11 but I'd be buying a Rekluse (for either bike) before I bought the button.

well the one i am looking at has the rekluse in it allready one of the major reasons i am looking at the bike i run one in my 450x and would never own a bike without one now i did find some stuf on the net with a plastic update kit that i like a lot and sticker kits also as far as bike and motor it will recieve the same as my new bike a anual just like a air plain i strip them to the frame and go through everything including rebuild of shock and fork i use to work at a bike shop so i have all the tools and i know how i do see they have the button for around 900 and for the crap i like to ride thats what i would like also i have ben looking for a 300 for years but just couldnt get myself to buy one till i figured out my problem (ORANGE)

Lewisports has a very nice website. They show pictures of current bikes, but don't mention if they are in stock.

Rick, does he have a GG 250F in stock? Fascinating machine. I still want an Ossa.

I meant 2011 Cervantes/Nambotin bike had the new linkages not the Race

Roost,

I have not been up there to the shop in sometime, but he did have a 250F a while back. I know that he has 450 listed and a 2011 300, w/250 graphic's...wolf in sheep clothing:D

It is time for me to get aboard a newer GG, still have the "trusty 200". The 200 will remain until I can no longer get parts or it become a paper weight. I need to sell the KX100 before I can move on a new bike.

I don't have a link for it but Mark at GoFasters has 20 Coming over shortly. They include the Seat, Entire Plastics kit(Shrouds, fenders, fork guards), new airbox, new shock protector, Rear Subframe. And Fit all the way back to 2001. If I am not mistaken he wanted $799 for them.

ok il check at go faster i know i have seen ones for all plastick and air box covers but nothing with the new sub frame mmmm sounds interesting thanks il be calling people from this sight with ads and try to be getting a 07-2011 race 300 for this years ride

The kit that includes the subframe is for '06 & earlier, '07 & up already has the right sub frame, airbox & seat. I believe the only thing needed to convert '07 up is plastic......😄
