2010 euro spec 300 Race model??

Those Race models are beutiful bikes, you wont be disapointed. Im almost certain they come with Sachs forks with gold anodizied fork caps and an Ohlins shock.

I found out about the front forks... they are Sachs externals with Ohlin internals - he also mentioned he had been to the factory and they told him all RACE versions are ohlin internals... hhmmmm.

Dont get to hung up on what is in the front end. I have full Sachs is the front and love them. I know the dealer you are taliking to and he rates at the top in my book. I had to enroll myself in a 28 day program to keep from purchasing the very bike you are looking at!! Pure Gasgas addiction.:o

I hope he's right trailridernut, but i doubt it. Your score though if he is, because as far as i know, if they're Ohlins inserts they'll be TTX.
Mine are gold caps but not Ohlins. Its just part of the bling that came on the EURO.
That Gold master cylinder covers, gold sprocket, ohlins 888 shock

It's really an issue of getting what you pay for... $600-$700 is essentially what a race version costs over what I can buy a regular version for. I'm not really into any fancy parts, the suspension is the only group of parts I'm interested in. In the end, is the rear shock worth $600-$700 extra... my thought would be spending $1,000-$1500(??) for the ttx cartridges(next year lol!) and buy a regular version instead... make sense? After owning 2 really crappy suspensions on new bikes it gets a bit frustrating buying a 3rd one!

Well... I will find out soon... it's on the way.

If they're selling it priced as a "Race" version it should come with spares kit also (topend kit).
The EURO's here in AUS were slightly over the standard model, with no spares, only 2-3 hundred dollars higher. You get alot more bike for your bucks.
This was before the 2011 models came out, so things like FMF TC2 muffler and Renthal twin wall bars were not standard issue.

You'll be impressed trust me they are a great bike, its just a shame that they've confused you about what it really comes with.

WOW... been riding GG since 00 and this 10 bike is nice! Glad I bought it! It needs fine tuning but overall really nice.

PS>> somehow I have 2 names(trailridernut and enduronut!):o

sach suspension

I purchased a euro six days and had it shippep to the U.S. it had the sachs suspension front and rear works great. I replaced both ends with onlins ttx works great

ttx

Seems like about $800.00 U.S. I am about an hour drive from Ohlins USA in NC I took it to them. Make sure you get the correcct measurements when you replace the cartridges because a mm off makes a huge difference. The rear ttx shock is incredible. I put a friends Ohlins 888 on first and then the ttx there is no comparison. Its trying to describe what a factory suspension can do compared to stock

Wow... This bike is much better than the Husky 310 I had just bought(and sold after a hand full of rides!!). Very suprising... the jetting was almost perfect(air screw change only!), very stable with no deflection, power is right on. The only area the bike was off is the suspension... rear is soft and front is stiff, somewhat as I expected. It should be respring rear and reshim front... we'll see.

So you bought it?

Sorry I dropped off this thread for a bit. The forks will soften up as the break in. The rear shock has alot of range in the clickers. I found the spring was just right to put my sag in the range of 110mm race, 30mm free.

As stated the engine responds well to jetting changes. I run the triple taper needles with the dual map in sunny mode and the bike has some good punch in the middle. Could be described as a handful if you were to get a bit hamfisted. Just the way I like it :D

What else can you tell us?

I also call BS on the Ohlins internals in the forks!

Yes, BS is correct! OH WELL!! I must admit though... I love the bike despite the incorrect comment from the dealer, I chaulked it up to lack of knowledge... on both of our parts(I should have known better!!). I have ridden it about 100~ miles and short of a fat needle and a fork shim stack that needed to be redone(KUDOS to SMS RACING in Denton,Tx) the bike is right on... typical Gasser handling, turns on a dime and tracks like a freight train!:D

So did you end up throwing a new needle in it? What did you end up with?

You know this thread is useless without pics ;)
