2012/13 Silencers

The stock FMF Q Stealth is an over weight spooge factory pile of doodoo. I had to fix mine a few times as all the mounting holes wear out from the weight of all the spooge.
I wish GasGas would go back to making their own like they used too.

silencers

I have Cannon R/C power unit on both my Gasser's Way better than the stocker.

You can have a hanging idle, two steps too lean everywhere else and it still spooges unless you ride at 8/10ths plus all day. Exhaust noise is all about shearing of the interface of fluid flow, the only way to stop it is to create turbulence ( look at the sawtooth diffusers on the engines of very late model jets). The stealth does it by rotating the exhaust flow prior to exit into the steady state air, slowing it down a lot, allowing the spooge to trap, quiet but dirty.

I have used Scalvini now ower one year. Nothing bad to say about it. Light, quiet and in my opinion good looking. Just repacked it. Old wool was a bit burnt but not bad att all. Now it's super silent again :)

Do the 250 and 300's use the same pipe?

Those Doma pipes look good. Looks like it is pretty rugged from the photo. Anyone have any experience with them?

I agree, that's a pretty good price for silencer and pipe too ~ 300AUD. The Cannon one looks pretty rugged too.
The strap mounts certainly aren't as sturdy as the bolt up ones. I have a mate with the TM 300 and he has heard the Doma is ok.

I guess I don't understand the Q-stealth problem. Use to run one on my YZ250 and loved it. I was glad to see the GasGas came stock with it. Went to a race down in Arizona in 2011 with a freind and the guys at the sound check said we deffinately had the two quietist bikes there.

On my 99 EC200 I just bought a new FMF TCII S/A, that can is super heavy and bulky, but it is what it is... not many choices out there for the older bikes. I still have my OEM, but it is loud and no spark arrestor.

I have my old TCII I may cut it up, make it shorter like a FMF Shorty with the Turbine Core, not sure how it would perform or what db it would blow.

DEPUSA has some nice stuff, but not sure if the are S/A?

For what it is worth I have a Leo Vince on my YZ 125, with spark arrestor screen, pretty much a required item to ride on public land here in CA.
Several weeks back the Funky Chicken National hare scramble the YZ blew a 86db at the sound check....that thing is super hush! Love it, the only real pain in the butt is removing the screen and cleaning it.

So far very happy with the Leo Vince product.

My bike had the oem banana muffler and then I rode a bike with the q-fmf and really liked it (power seemed more accessible but also from a sound point of view) I think the cannon is pretty similar but beats the fmf in size and weight. From what others have said here a flip with the leverage of the q can do some serious damage to the plastic subframe

Has anyone installed an fmf turbine core for an 11 or older on the 12/13 model? I know i saw a power core shorty installed on a 12 model in the classifieds. Would it just need a mounting tab fab?
