2012/13 Silencers

Do the 250 and 300's use the same pipe?

Those Doma pipes look good. Looks like it is pretty rugged from the photo. Anyone have any experience with them?

BUMP...

Does anyone know if the they do use the same system on the 250 and 300 in 2013?
3 weeks and waiting for the Cannon from the states and hasn't been invoiced yet......................
If people don't want my business I'll take it elsewhere....to DOMA hopefully.

250 and 300 Exhausts are the same. Q-Stealth is easily the best silencer I have used to date. I have tried the Turbine core, which I HATE with a passion. Sooo loud and raspy, sounds like something is broken. I have tried both the Quiet and the Loud Cannon Racecraft silencers. I like the quiet version, but they both seem to increase power and undoubtedly weigh in less than a Q-Stealth. The loud sounds like a 500 2 stroke, I guess I would rather not sound that loud!

The Q-Stealth seems to dull the hit on the bike, yes. I guess I do as much to dull the hit and make the power manageable. I have not yet had a Q become a "spooge" magnet. I would imagine the guys who get all spooged up are running Amsoil Dominator or the like. That oil is meant for a motocross guy who is bouncing off the rev limiter and on the pipe the whole race. Of course when you ride a 300 2 stroke with a high flash point oil in the woods, yeah the silencer will get spooged up. I have seen a few Turbine core silencers with a nasty snot spooge leaking out the back. It may take a bit longer, but it still builds up. I ran nearly 2 seasons 100+ hours on one Q-Stealth with no repack and I can honestly say, that silencer was still quieter than the rest and I appreciated it. It is a long silencer, so yes that can be a detriment. The Q, IMHO is the best out there.

I have never tried the Leo or the Doma. I have seen both and they both looked like a very well built product.

Moral of my story is if you do not want spooge, bounce your bike off the rev limiter when your riding, and that spooge issue will go away! Or maybe buy cheaper/lower flash point oil and that may not be an issue. To all the Amsoil guys out there, I apologize, its a great oil for some applications. For riding in the woods, there are better oils out there.

I have the LeoV X3 and it is on it's 3rd different bike, I broke the carbon fiber end cap on it once (it isn't a functional piece so no biggie, I won't replace the cap again) I love it for the quietness, + I can't feel any difference between the X3 power & the Cannon Loud, which I have tried. I would agree with djroggen about the noise level of the Loud, not for me in the woods but maybe OK for MX.
FWIW I run Amsoil Dominator at 50:1 94 octane no ethanol and the X3 runs very clean. I never take the spark arrestor out either

OK, for the sake of conversation (and to see if everyone has learned to be civil ;)) I'll bite - what is your favorite 'woods oil'?

I would like to thank djroggen and Fred1956 for there post, that was some good info and very helpful for me.

Me too actually. I happen to run Amsoil at the present but am willing to try new things based on others' positive experience.

Yes. This is all good info.
I myself am a big fan of LeoVince X3 both on performance and size!!!

Currently I am using Motul 800 at 50:1. Plus I buy only Ethanol Free gas at highest octane for my bike / lawnmower / saws.....etc. Some of the Gas out there these days is horrible.

Here is a website to find Pure Gas in your area or the closest to you.

Exactely...switched to the Aimsoil interceptor(from Dominator). Aimsoil even discusses that the dominator is used for Racing which the revs are kept high to burn off the oil. The aimsoil interceptor is used for trail riding and such.

I bought a gallon of Aimsoil Interceptor to try out. I am going to run it on our trip in both bikes. I will let you know how it turns out.

I've been running the interceptor in our two strokes and like it pretty well. I definitely get less spooge on my Gas Gas as a non-aggressive woods rider. When i read about the dominator, it sounded like it was for more aggressive riders that do more frequent rebuilds. I don't like that it's not tinted red, though...I'm kind of forgetful sometimes. I am hardly an oil expert, though.

I have seen my TC2 spooge horrendously on GRO at 50:1 with the stock jetting. Drooling within half an hour of riding.

I'm a big fan of the Amsoil Dominator, and the GRO. Lots of variables at play from jetting to riding style to flash points, fuels, and so on. Personally I've not had any spooge while using the Dominator. I get an oily ring around the back of the pipe and thats it. Quite like the raspy bark of the TC too. The Q Stealth looks like it belongs on a 4 stroke, but I'm sure works just as well as anything else out there.

As far as "Woods" oil, anything but Amsoil Dominator or other similar products. Whats the point of running a high flash point oil, in a low rev environment? I should have named Dominator in my above post. Amsoil is a great company, they have made a name for themselves by putting a lot of money back into the sport, and for that the should be commended. But, Dominator is a huge waste of money, IMHO. ;)

Unfortunately my personal favorite oil is now discontinued... I ran Arctic Cat Magnum racing oil but after nearly 5 gallons of that GoFasters is now out...

I use Champion WP2 at 50:1 in my 2012 300 and it runs great with no spooge unless I'm creeping around behind the wife or newb riders here at my home trails.

I have been using Amsoil Dominator forever and never had the spooge until the Q Stealth was installed, so at this point I wouldn't say it is the Dominator and yes I did rejet. I like many on this form and other have had the same issue with the Q, but I do like what is does for the noise level. With that said I am waiting on a LeoVince X3 to try.

I agree with the Q stealth, the less people hear us the better off we are. My stealth doesn't spooge bad at all. It will when the bike is jetted rich. The TC on my wifes bike spooge's quite badly, may need a re-pack? But then again that motor is 15 yrs. old and it's anyones guess as to how many times it's been rebuilt. I've done it twice in the last 4 years.

As for the Interceptor oil, I did use it in our bikes on our trip to CO. the bikes seemed to smoke less, but I can't give an accurate example, because I found a station in Dolores, CO. that has ethanol free fuel. So it could have been that as well. If you really want to wake up your bikes(and vehicles) run ethanol free gas. I filled up our Jeep Commander with it and we went from 17 avg mpg. to 24 avg mpg. And the manufacturer states high avg. at 19...go figure. Ethanol is a racket and corn is only good for eating with a nice thick juicy steak! I bought two extra 5 gallon gas cans and came home with 20 gallons of the stuff to run in the bikes.
