Enjoyed the write up and the video, but in the vid. the battery tray was removed. Isn't that part of the structural integrity of the subframe?

Intresting about the rebound adjustment its faces out instead of forward. Mine faces foward and it sucks to adjust.

Somewhere my login info for the site got lost, so I had to re-register, now I look like a total noob.

Whimpy - not sure what your rebound reference is, can you explain?

About the battery box, good point, I had not thought about that. I will keep an eye on the subframe and see if I notice any issues.

I probably got a early version of the Olins shock, I was lucky enough to get my 12 in Feb. The adjuster for the rebound adjustment faces foward not to the side like in the photo you have of the linkage. You have to get to the adjustment with a long alen wrench, between the two likages. Not the end of the world but not easy to get too.

The battery box also includes a hook for the seat and provides support for the seat base ...

The updated box uses hex stand-offs into studs on the subframe that make it much easier to reattach than the first iteration.

When did an update for the box go out? Would this be different than what came on my 300 that was one of the first in country?

'splain this to me Lucy. I'm kinda stooopid.

We have an issue with the battery box mount on ours.

If your talking about getting the bolt to go into the hole on the subframe let me know I have a fix that i had to do to mine. Shoot me a PM with an email and I'll send you a PDF file with the pictures and a description of what I did

Rear bolts are no problem. Both fronts are hard to align but one has now pushed the insert out of place. We've been using only 3 of the 4 bolts 'cause it's nearly impossible to get the fourth one in.:(

The easy fix for the alignment of the front screws is to open up the scallop in the shroud which then makes the attachment easy-peezy.

The factory must have changed their process is all - this appeared on a bike that arrived a week or so ago, so it wasn't part of any update kit, just the factory making continuous improvements.

Took a little more the opeing up the scallop. I took the subframe apart and figured it out. You need to shim the metal piece with a washer where it bolts to the sub frame.
