2012 XC300 Review Posted

After the first real ride on my 12' EC300 estart I have to say this bike is spectacular! Chilly's review is dead on. Super stable, very neutral and the bike just begs to be ridden fast. The estart works great.

I did a pre ride walk around video and a post ride report. I will upload to youtube and post links tomorrow. Im just a hillbilly but I thought people may like a video showing some of the highlights and the fit/finish on the bike.

200s and 250s just hit the port. Customs has not released them yet. I think we will be able to ship them early next week.

Anybody who rides in the thickets of the deep South will appreciate having the shrouds held on with grommets, instead of bolts that pull thru the plastic.

Perhaps ... it turns out the grommets get hot (attached to the radiator) and soft ('cuz they're hot) and what was a firm fit in the shop is now pliable and easy to pull out. I'm trying to gin up a method (as are several others) that preserve the grommets but still retain the shrouds.

Steve, the only way I see that working somewhat, is to use the grommets in a rad frame/guard, isolated from the radiator. The shroud interface is weak though. Tonights project: Rad protection and bulletproofing the plastic.

Ah, so--another great idea diminished by poor execution. Good luck on the fix.

Jakobi I haven't yet and at this time think I'll get the 250. I have picked up a 1998 XR200, 2005 RM 125, 2005 YZ125, and a 2005 RM250 while waiting and trying to decide on which GG to get :D.

You've been a bit busy mate! The bike king I'm going to call you! Don't you have the Husky 150 with a bb kit on it too?

LOL I have flipped all of them but the 05 RM250. I have an 08 CR Husky that was a 125 when I got it new. Then it was a 144 and now a 165 :D. Waiting on my suspension to get back to test the EXP I installed in it.

I really liked it. They turn and handle great. The low end power is soft but the mid -high is pretty good. I liked it way more than the 05 YZ 125. If I didn't have the Husky 165 I would have kept it; it was like new!

LOL I'm no "bike king". I only have three bikes at this time (2008 Husky CR165, 2005 RM250, 2010 Husky TC250). I get bored and look at CL when I see a like new bike cheap I pick it up, ride it, and re-sell for $500.00 or so more than I paid for it. I do love bikes though :D.

:) Glad you can do that.. I'd just end up losing heaps of coin and have a shed full of bikes and no time or money to ride them! Back yard bandit!
