2013 Models

Think less of me if you want to, but KTM's marketing worked for me and I a long time Husky rider, who couldn't bring myself to buy "Orange" bought a Husaberg TE250. I might have bought a GG EC250, if they got here sooner and there was a decent dealer closer to Central NY.

 NOOOOOOO!!! The husky faithful must be in shock!!
so whats it going to be ... Nberg? Nhusaberg?

Thought Mototech in Boise carried Gassers, but don't see any on the website

Loyal made the decision not to carry GG after he got Husaberg two strokes. He told me he did not have the energy to do demo rides and the other things needed to grow a brand like GG.
We're in the order period for 2013 models now. When we are done there will probably be a few less dealers because we have some guys who don't want to stock bikes. We won't do special order dealers.

Forgot to mention....this isn't unusual. Dealer networks for all brands are constantly changing, especially for a brand like us in the rebuilding stages.

That sucks I was always on him to start carrying GG. Any other prospects closer in ID ? Know about Taskys as I own a Husky

Clay correct me if I am wrong but I was under the impression that you were using the dealers as your warehouse, in that the bikes were on their floors and they paid when they sold them and if some did not have stock it was a simple matter of shipping one from a dealer that had stock? Can't remember where I read that but thought it was a smart move as most are not into mail order bikes and want to see the bike before deciding, also removes a lot of risk from the dealers, but I suppose it puts it all on you though

Where did you have to go to get a Husaberg/KTM TE250? Did any dealers in New York take them on?

I got mine at Canyon Motorsports Gaines PA.
Edlemann Sales in Troy NY is only NY dealer (at least in upstate). I went with PA dealer, to get an unrestricted MSO for a NY street plate.

Not sure where you are in Central Ny but there is a GasGas dealer
near Troy Ny called Dirt World. I grew up in Clinton Ny and Troy
should be approx 1.5 hrs from you. As Nhuskys said Edelmann's
is in Troy Ny. Bought my Berg there, great dealer.

I'm outside Hannibal near Lake Ontario about 3hours from Troy. I've been checking out Dirt Worlds listings on his website. I think Nhuskys is south closer to the PA border. I'm familiar with Canyon nice people, bought my KTM there. Nhusky, do you have to add signals to plate that?

We ran into some problems with this system. Number one was getting dealers to pay us when they sold the bike. I have been pretty disappointed at how much effort it has taken me to get money from a small number of dealers. Number two was the cash flow problem it created. We did not have a good year in 2011 due to the very weak dollar. There was literally a time when we were making $78 on a 200 due to the weak dollar.
We've had to go to using GE to floor the bikes for us or requiring dealers to pre-pay us.

So you really don't want me to set up a dealer in NY but in PA so you can buy across the state line for for the title issue, right? :D

Only seems to be a problem with KTM/Husaberg..... I guess the big ship shows up on the radar and the little boats dont.

I just finished the Canadian National 2-day enduro in Vernon and couldn't help but notice that there were roughly 25 GG bikes in a field of almost 150. Seems as though the bikes are selling well up here on this side of the border.

I couldn't help but notice that the trails were becoming littered with plastic off the new 2012's though. Be it rad shrouds or side panels, I don't think there was a single 2012 that had all its plastic still by the end of day 2. Can't look good for potential new customers.

I've noticed too that the 2012 seats seem to stick out to wide at the low point of the base. Riders who squeeze the bike hard with there knees had worn big holes in the seats at this location on several of the new bikes.

Come on I raced there and came home with all my plastic. I do agree though the plastic on the 2012 is not quallity. Sounds like a new seat and shroulds at least for 13. First model year gremlins hopefully.

I rode the event in Vernon with my 2012 and all the plastic that i left with i came home with, my seat is holding in well and i squeeze the bike hard with my knees :)
