2013 Models

I modded mine before I rode it, only issues are the small M5 bolts in the tank comming loose. I hope the new plastic is a different color, not a fan of white.

Mark at GF ordered in some of the 2012 red and black plastic (I think from the standard model) and I'm sure he would do it for you on the '13 plastic too.
Hopefully I will know what the bikes will look like next week....maybe even have a pic!

NHuskys can you expand upon the unrestricted CO stuff? I think my next bike is going to be brand new, and I want it to be a GG but just worried about the titling issue because I live in MA and race Enduros. I lived in NH when I bought my 09 EC250 and you can basically plate a lawnmower up there but MA is a different story... Most people in MA buy KTM's because the CO doesn't state "For off-road use only". Do the GG bikes have this on the CO? I guess what you are saying is that it says that in some states and depends where you buy the bike. I need to know more, won't consider a new GG unless I am sure I can plate it.

Plate out of state if all you need is enduro legal, get my drift.;) Works for me, even for a couple of serious dual sports I do a year.

In NY(and some other states), KTM/Husaberg have to add the dreaded... "For Off Highway Vehicle Use Only" statement to the MSO. Small manufcturers don't have to do this yet....

In PA, KTM/Husaberg does not have to add this statement. I got a NY street plate for my '12 Husaberg TE250 and Title arrived 30 days later. I assume a Gas Gas without a MSO restriction would be the same.

Before anyone goes through the trouble of interstate shopping, check your current DMV laws in detail. In NJ, what the MSO says does not matter. The bike has to be on a homologation list, if not, no registration. Whats really weird is the Husky WR250 2stroke was on the list a few years ago, along with the TEs. Almost certainly a mistake as no GG or KTM 2strokes. From what I heard the goal is to standarize this. Another tool for the govt to kill our sport.

If a manufaturer brings in bikes that have emitions under the EPA standards they get "bonus points" they can use on models that score over the mark. As GAS GAS sends no models to the EPA they can not do this, KTM chooses not to bother.

Lawn equipment, like small engines do the same thing, thats often what a special "HO" edition means. The "HO" model maybe "hopped up" and not pass its emition standard.

I believe this is how it is done for Husky's...I have not checked the NJ DMV list in three months but last one I read still had WR two-strokes

Cheers,

Rick

I wonder if being part of bmw husky gets bonus points from all those epa friendly bmws?? my 08 husky cr 125 motocrosser came with the necessary paperwork to get a clean title!! Even for being in Nh that was pretty good .. didn't have to do the usual paper work

I was at the factory today and saw the 2013. I should have pics of it on Friday. Lot of little changes but mainly to the plastic. Seat has a bolt on top again. The battery box attaches to the seat so it is out of the way now. There is a bolt through the bottom of the rad shrouds now and the plastic is much stronger. The seat feels softer. Tighter turning radius. We dropped the Renthal Twinwalls for a tapered bar (forgot the brand). 50 tooth rear sprocket.
New engineers at the factory who replaced the one who screwed up the airbox on the '12s. (I think those guys were shot!) They have been working on a lot of quality control type issues that should make for a better finished bike.
I will post the pics when I get them later this week.

You are the man Clay. I've said it before and I'll say it again. I can only see good things in Gas Gas' future if they keep up this good work. I'll have to ask John@solo if Australia is getting the same goodies.

Awesome. Any idea if the seat and plastic will still fit the 12? How did they tighten up the turning radius and keep the same frame and radiators. Just curious really.
