2013 Models

Thinner(shorter) would be nice but they already very thin. I thought about sending mind off to Fisher seats and have it lightened widened and softer foam maybe. But not sure if it would help.

Hmmmmmm.....since Berg ain't opening their mouths about the 2013's yet maybe it is time to go back to GG.......

Thanks for posting Clay. Might be time to call Rich!

I have heard that Husaberg is about to "kill" the the bike and frame they have developed and will adopt all of KTM's bikes...I hear that a 350 Bergie is about to be presented during this month. Why buy a blue KTM ? :D

Why buy a blue KTM ? :D

Well the reasons are simple. The Blue KTM had CC forks and had some differences from the "Orange Engine" that made it stand out. Plus with the yellow frames they are sexy!;)

Now rumors of some kind of jacked up fork, same engine as "Orange" siblings are starting to float around. I am no longer liking that bike if the rumors are true. They were different just like my beloved gassers I have owned.

So with Clay stating that the 13 e-start 300's might be here in August has for sure caught my attention. I am going to sit back and see what both companies do in August and then I will make my decision. I have always been a loyal gasser guy until I bought that pig of a Berg FE 450. As gasgasman stated on my FB page....I never "jelled" with that bike.

If you dont buy a GG, I want my t shirt back!

I think the seat is fine as far as feel, at least so far. Problem is keeping it on, lost it again today and that was with the bolt snugged down good! Good thing I carry extra bolts. I think the plastic inner fender and seat base flow or flex and the bolt loosens easy. I'll bet this is the seat change on the '13. I'm going to do the top bolt mod ASAP.

Robby,

This bike is freakin' awesome, you will not be disappointed. I rode 60 miles today on everything from high speed G out trails studded with small rocks to rock gardens and the bike just works. Sucks up everything you point it at. Forget the smurff pumpkin.

Yes, I almost bought a Husaberg instead of my GG because of those diferences. When Clay announced the 2011's Race would equip with Marzocchi CC I simply ditched the blue KTM.
My comment earlier were for the 2013 models in case rumors are true.

I heard that at the KTM dealer meeting last year, KTM management said that they recognize that some people disliked KTM because of their strength so they were bringing in 2T Husabergs for those riders. I thot that was a pretty strange statement.....almost as if customers were too dumb to know those bikes come from the same company. No matter what color they are really good motorcycles but ours is still better! :D

Vindicator....Good point!
I just booked a flight to Spain for week after next. I should have some more info when I get back. Leaving here on the 15th, back on the 20th.

That right there is a check mark to the positive"Why buy a Gasser".....the accessibility of the importer/distributor and how much he contributes to this site and puts his phone number down! KTM does make a good product no doubt...I just don't care for the Indian involvement. I think the word you wanted was "SEXIER"

ill be watching this thread alot.

i ordered my 2013 300 e-start from my local dealer friday.
i cant wait for it to get here.

Think less of me if you want to, but KTM's marketing worked for me and I a long time Husky rider, who couldn't bring myself to buy "Orange" bought a Husaberg TE250. I might have bought a GG EC250, if they got here sooner and there was a decent dealer closer to Central NY.

I think they brought in 300 or so bikes and sold everyone of them so it certainly worked. And as I said....they are good bikes. There is no doubt that there were a lot of potential GG customers that bought other brands because we were so late. I'm also working on a new dealer near central NY.
.

I waited and I love the bike. Only downside is some mid season setup and tweaking, but its the closest stock than any bike I have ever had.
