2013 special edition bikes?

gulliaume

@nambo-Trev: You are right, the gulliaume did not have the 2013 features but it?s a absolute fantastic Bike. I rode the 11? Nambo before it was unrideable..the engine was only useable at MX if you have an very aggressiv ridingstyle. The suspension on the Rear (TTX) was good, the Zokes in the front the worst Fork ever have ride. Now I ride the 300er Guillaume...with TTX in front and rear..the best Bike for all conditions and I get back the fun of riding...it was lost with the Nambo..

If your talking about the new 48s, I don't understand how you can say this. The fork is in fact excellent, your particular example perhaps not seviced, valved, or sprung correctly for you.

I keep hearing that the Nambo models feel much stronger engine wise than other models too. No one has ever elaborated on why. Can't just be the stickers!

It just goes to show you how good marketing works. People hear "TTX" and must have it, like its the end all solution. Its actually just another, very expensive path. I think that some people, after spending major $$ on it, WANT it to feel so much better that they think it does, when it reality its just a very high quality component with generic valving that needs to be altered for optimum performance anyway, with a good range though. This stuff doesn't sell here, you just don't see it, and we have some smokin' fast guys, multi time national champs. I would think that they would be running this if it was a distinct advantage. Any modern CC fork with the correct setup for the rider is not going to be a limitation.

So, its just not an accurate statement to say the fork is the worst you have ever ridden. Better to say the forks setup is the worst you have ridden for your conditions, stats, and ability. JMO.

My Nambo's engine is so much stronger than any EC I have ever ridden. So I would it's not just the stickers!

Porting or CDI my guess. Reed spacer in Nambo vs. EC? CDI swap is easy, that will answer the question.

I think you're right about porting, the S3 head also. I even feel the tranny is different, maybe not though.

I agree Claude and not because it had cost more money lol. I've ridden about 10 different gasser's through 10 and 11 so I would say yes I would have a good idea about how they feel power wise and yes my bike 2 feels much stronger. I can't explain to you why jake as I havnt ripped any of these bikes apart but I don't think that it's "in my head" as I don't ride my bike because I'm stuck on gasgas I ride it because it feels the best to me.

An old trick to make the EC300 an animal was to swap in a 200 CDI and remove the reed spacer. The head likely has some influence but its not the major player.

Trev and I have touched on this topic before. Definitely not just the head as the S3 doesn't offer much difference at all from the stock. Same squish band and volume. The nambo also uses the silver (normal/lowest comp) insert too. Trev has seat time on others with head work and corrected squishes. We established the gearing was not a big player making his feel stronger than others either, while he has also mentioned that the gears feel different. Maybe they are seeing as Cladoo feels the same??

What ignition do you have on the Namo? 2k3 or 2k2? I would be thinking they possibly do run a more aggressive timing curve through the CDI. Maybe some porting differences too.

I felt my 11 Nambo did not have the bottom power that the 10 Nambo had or the stock bikes had. We discovered that, for some reason, Gas Gas left out the plastic pieces in the crank that reduce the air volume. (Damn...can't think of what they are called) which reduces the low end power and gives the bike a bigger hit. Maybe they did that because it is a true replica bike and Nambotin preferred this type power?
Personally I liked the stock motor much better.

I call them crank stuffers. I wonder if a guy could install them on a crank by just removing the cyl. or if you would have to split the cases. I think you guys are about ready to find out. I think we are going to try to install them on a 12 xc300. Also I wonder if the 13 models have them installed or not.

I'm pretty sure you have to split the crank itself, as they are held by bolts from the inside.

I just received info that the Guillaume models are in Canada. However the 300's are sold out and only 250's were available. I am not sure how many Gas Gas Pacific brought in but probably not many and they are more likely spoken for.

Of course the 300's are already gone because I may have wanted one! I'll have to give Dave a call and get the low down.
