450 Enduro wont start / no spark

2005 gg450 fse sm

I have the same problem with my bike. When it will start, which is not often, it will only run for a few seconds then die. Talk about frustrated, it would be nice if someone else in the area had one to be able to swap parts. I'll be following your problem, maybe we can help each other out and actually ride these things sometime this summer.

Another problem

Now i'm getting a coil error on the diagnostic program. Bought a new coil. Still no spark to the plug. I have two ECUs . Same result w/ both ECUs and both coils.

Any ideas ?

I had one 450 that had a bad wiring harness. The bike would just shut off and it was usually 20 miles from the truck. You want to talk about a pissed off customer, just ask me what the guy had to say. I ended up giving him a new bike, then in time figured out the harness problem and sold that bike which is still going today.

For the guy with the loose pin connector, just drop a short strand of wire into each pin hole and plug it back in. I had to do this on my 125 and it worked great for years after. It would seem the cdi plugs do not like to be unplugged and plugged back in.

Solved !

It was the # 20 pin on the ECU harness. It was loose. Wish I would of found that first instead of spending money and 5 weeks w/o riding. Lesson learned.

Eldor coil for sale

I placed an ad on the parts section.
I never used the coil that I thought was at fault on my bike.

oil issue

Well, its alive ! GG 450 running strong . It was the ECU . I'll be looking for a spare just in case. Sure is nice to ride it.
I re-routed the crankcase hose to take the long way around to the air filter box. I hope that decreases the oil splashing out of there.
The only thing I have to look for now, is an end cap to the exhaust; it blew out on one of my full throttle passes.
Thanks again for all your comments , suggestions and support.
I would have to sell this bike w/o you looking out for me.
Vinny.

my air box on my 05 is full of oil and it was previously drained several times just thinking it had been over filled.

How did you re-route your line?
