I am also still looking for a gskt. that will work on the 2011 gas caps. I tried some that were listed on this site but they seem to shrink up after awhile. Or if someone knows of a good gskt. material that won't shrink or expand I could cut my own. I would also be up for a new cap if I new that the gskt. would hold up on it.
also looking for something for my 11 250. I've tried some gasket material from the hardware store. Cork, cardboard, rubber ... none of it seems to get the job done. I've resigned myself to the fact that my bike will have a dirty fuel colored gas tank. Waiting for the day when my crotch starts on fire ...
I bought the $5 gasket from Atlantic motosports in FL I saw in an earlier post. I also ditched the cap center section and put on an in-line vent/check valve. No problems so far!
Just got in a new batch of gas caps from spain and the inside seal has changed in design. It is NOT the harder rubber bladder style, but now a flat seal style. I think these will not shrink! I hope!
Honestly I will have to look when i get back. We got a large parts shipment in the day before i left for Spain and noticed it finally was a new style after a patient wait for a fix. I can tell you that it is complete with the vent hose in the bag as well. Cap and vent line together. Will look up pricing when i get back.
If you guys can't wait for the cap, just make a gasket out of the proper material. Get a sheet of BunaN (Nitrile) rubber from Mcmaster and cut a gasket. Done. BunaN is rated compatible with hydrocarbon fuel AND Ethanol. Silicone is great too, but more expensive.
